Should California increase funding for public education?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No, California should not increase funding for public education.

California should use the additional funding to build more prisons. California has an epidemic of gang violence and criminal activity. With the creation of legal marijuana the youth there cannot be expected to be productive. They will most likely end up in prison. Planning ahead for this by building more prisons is a better investment of resources.

  • Education is already overfunded

Take a look at the California job market and you'll see that it is depressed. So, why put more money into education when there is not a burning need for it. Besides, many opportunities for public and self-education exist outside the archaic public education system. All that will happen with increased funding is more administrative people pushing unnecessary paperwork.
