    Of coarse it should be legalized, and it does come with dangers, but have you seen what alcoholics and smokers look like? It has medical benefits unlike tabacco and can cause the same if not less the amount of physical and mental destruction. We already have alcohol which ,when intoxicated with, can cause serious damage. This is legal and not always frowned upon, and yet it has most of the same affects as cannabis. I say if this is a true democracy, we should all take a vote for office on this subject.

It should be made legal throughout the country as a medicinal substance prescribed by doctors and only available to legal adults rather than something obtained freely in the gas station, because even if it isn't harmful, it is still a mind-altering substance. Ultimately there is no reason to keep it illegal, but it should have restrictions.

    In my opinion weed is not a drug, its a plant. Government has made alcohol legal, but alcohol makes people angry, more upset, over a million people have died from it. Weed makes you happy, it brings you laughter no matter what mood you were in before. NO ONE has died from it. It's just an harmless plant.

  • Why is marijuana illegal anyway?

    Seriously, think about this. I can find no reason why it is actually illegal. I asked around my family and friends and they cannot think of a reason except that it harms you or because its an addictive drug. Marijuana does not harm you as they say it does. Alcohol harms more people than marijuana does and its not illegal. Marijuana is not an addictive drug. Statistics show that only 1% of the United States population use marijuana on a daily basis.

    Schizophrenia is a mental condition, often caused by abusing substances. Cannabis is a depressant and saps initiative from people. Hospitals are full of people who bound for the rest of their lives due to chronic usage. It has no beneficial attributes, detrimental effects, can fill a book. Besides what is the purpose of smoking a poison, like Alcoholic beverages or tobacco products.

    Any mind altering substance should be illegal. Prolonged cannabis use can cause schizophrenia, which is a very scary prospects. When people take it their state of mind is affected which can mean it is dangerous for them to drive or care for children. Marajuana has more cancer causing chemicals than tobacco. It will also cause birth defects in unborn babies if pregnant mothers smoke it. Why would anyone put something that is harmful out as a legal substance.
