Should Child Soldiers Be Given Amnesty In A New Country?

Asked by: BlueTiger1124
  • Grant them amnesty

I would give them amnesty because it can be worse for the kids because then they will always have that guilt no matter what and that is not good for a kid it will destroy his hope and family if they still speak with them. . . . . .

  • They are only kids

They have no choice its either get killed or become a soldier, they couldn't have ran away because where would they have run, they're homes have been destroyed family killed and they are only 8-12 years old and on so many drugs may I add, its not their choice, its was made for them.

  • They children Bruh

The get brain washed and fed up on druggies my man. That's not their fault. They pull up with the ak and go gra ta ta but they do it for the money my dudes. Some of them have got no money so they need it. That's all my man.

  • Cuz they children my man

Man they children bruh, if your child came up and was all like "aye imma kill u skrrt skrrt bang bang kodak black did nothing wrong" id be like "why u do this" and he be like "I be brainwashed" thats why i voted saying yes so agree also, the end.

  • Yes they should

Cuz dey little dey dont know better its either join or die yk like i would wanna live but they have to kill thier parent which they dont want to but i would wanna live but i would let my self die cuz i want my parents to ik they will be upset but i want them to live

  • Yes, They should be given amnesty.

What if you were in these children places. What if your own child or family member were in the shoes of these children. A innocent child, living life just like everyone else, is getting dragged into a war they have nothing to do with. They are victims of a war that started way before their time. A lot of people are saying they shouldn't have amnesty but these are children at the end of the day following an adult with his or her own reasons. They are also being drugged and beaten to do these horrible acts. But, if they don't they die. These children have lost their families, their lives, childhoods, and morals.

  • Desensitization and instincts

Even if they do kill people they were being exposed to harsh enviroments drugs and deaths being told that its ok some are told to go to the military if they're parents are killed and others are forced they follow the oficials blindely because they are adults i rest my case

  • Most of them don't even know what they are doing.

When child soldiers come into the camps they are given drugs and they are brainwashed so many child soldiers don't know what they are doing. When people say they don't want child soldiers to be granted amnesty I get what they are saying; people do think that child soldiers should be locked up for life because they killed many people, but they don't really know what they are doing so we should give child soldiers a chance to do good

  • Votes yes for those that have already suffered.

Any and every child should be granted amnesty. If this were your child I'm sure you would want them to be helped not locked away. A child does as they are told and that's not there fault for only doing what kept them alive. They have suffered enough so vote yes.

  • They do not deserve it my dude

So they commit acts of rape, killings, break the laws of war. People argue they are being forced to do the actions, but many children are VOLUNTEERING to do it. Also many children occupy positions of command in there units which is bad because it means that people are not forcing them to do it, they are forcing others to do it. This is very very bad. How could they go back into society so desensitised to violence and not knowing hwo to act in the face of violence when they are taught to CREATE voilence.

  • They suck ngl

Currently, there is a world-wide debate over whether child soldiers should be held accountable for their crimes. Those for parding child soldiers argue that they are being forced to commit these acts. Those against it argue that many of these children want to be there killing people. Child soldiers should not be granted amnesty. The life of a child soldier is like a person with superpowers deciding on whether to use them for good or evil. If they choose good, their life would benefit others, but if they choose evil, they can be detrimental for others. This is similar to the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf. The wolf could just continue to eat the little critters in the forest, but he decides to attack humans. If he had chosen to maintain his life the way it was, continuing the food chain, and letting others continue their lives, the world would go on as normal. For the reason he did not choose that, as he moves along through villages, he brings destruction along with him. FIX THIS DO NOT FORGET
Scores of child soldiers are volunteering to join the rebel troops. These adolescents have jumped at the chance to join the armies and renegades. This also suggests that child soldiers aren’t always the ones being forced to do these horrific actions. According to Debatewise, “Many children occupy command positions in their armed group/military and are responsible for ordering the commissions of war crimes and human rights abuses.” What this means is that child soldiers are the ones forcing others to do commit the appalling crimes. How would you feel about letting someone like that back into society?
This is my counterclaim but i had to redo it.
Giving amnesty to child soldiers could actually be worse for them. If we do not punish the children but we punish the adults, this will be an incentive for rebel leaders to stop giving the worst crimes to the adults, and start giving them to the children. This is true in the case of Hussein Mansour. According to Newsela, he and many others like him had been recruited to the armies because elders such as his uncles had been killed or imprisoned for their actions. If there are no consequences to their actions, what’s to stop them from doing them?

I have to use this i put it here so i do not forget ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

  • They're trash and should be locked up bc they're sped

Child soldiers commit acts of rape, mass shootings, and mutilation, which is to deprive an animal/person of their body parts. Do you think they should be forgiven for these illegal crimes? No! Child soldiers do not deserve amnesty. The life of a child soldier is similar to Beauty and the Beast because the beast
War crimes are still crimes, so there should be exception. They should be locked up in a jail cell due to the fact that they’re committing illegal actions. Just because they’re doing these actions to defend the country or because they have to, does not mean it should go unnoticed. It’s wrong to say that all child soldiers are forced into fighting and have no control over their actions because some volunteer and they’re highly aware of their actions. Some children are responsible for planning war crimes and human rights abuse. They may be too young, but that is no excuse for their inappropriate behaviors because they are able to control what they do. In the article, The Littlest Soldiers, the authors, Kowalski and Kathiann M, stated ‘’Everyday we were taken with them by car to burn houses, kill animals, and harass people.’’ Do you see these violent crimes they are committing!?
Ghosts don’t just sign them up, they do it themselves because they control their actions. Some join in acts of avenge towards the deaths of their family members. According to the article, Mant DRC Children Volunteer to Fight, Inna Lazareva, the author, believes that extreme poverty, malnutrition, which is the result of a poor diet, and the lack of access to education are the prime reasons kids voluntarily join. Children who are aware of what they are going to do when they sign up should be taken into custody because they know what kind of crimes they are going to get involved in.
These children who are under 18 years old are forced to join the army, even if they have no skills whatsoever. However, they are very attentive of their actions and they know when they are harming or killing someone. Also, people think that it is okay if they kill people because they are drugged and forced to, but they should not just take somebody’s life like that. They should put themselves before others and think about how they would respond if they were in their victims point of view. They would not like that, so why should they take someone’s friend, family member, or peer away?
To wrap this up, child soldiers should not be forgiven for their actions, such as committing acts of rape, mutilation, and participating in mass shootings. People in general who have committed these crimes get thrown in jail, but child soldiers don’t? That is no fair and should be changed!! Let's take a stand and put an end to letting these soldiers get away with their crimes and lock ‘em up!!!!!
