Should children be banned from working in the performing arts and professional sports?

  • Banning under 18 from professional sport

So I have a debate on this topic and we are affirmative and these are the points that we have come up with.

We difine the topic as under 18 should not be able to play in sports were they are paid

    Education.
If a child is competing proffesionally then the chance is that they are missing out on vital lessons.

    Injury
Their muscles are still devolving and if injured could ruin there whole career.

    Pressure.
They are only kids they will not be able to compete well under pressure and could result in mental damage.

    Fame.
If they become to good they will be none to the public and as a child it is very easy for them to do something stupid.

I am not arguing about performing arts because I am not doing a debate on that.

Children may work hard to get to a poffesional stage and it would be a shame to throw that away but what would be a bigger shame would to be getting injured and never be able to do that sport again.

  • Banning child performance!

If children are working they are not spending their time in formal education. If children are working they are not spending their time in formal education. Children are less able to make decisions for themselves and to represent their interests. Stage fright and the pressure of performance can be difficult to handle for even the most experience

  • Opportunities Shouldn't Be Lost

Opportunities should not be avoided, not matter what a persons age is. As for performing arts, I think it would be difficult to produce films without having children play children. Children that are afforded the option to work in performing arts and professional sports have worked hard to get where they are and should be allowed to follow through when they're abilities are found to be valuable.

  • children should not be banned from performing arts or sports.

Children should not be banned from working in the performing arts and professional sports. These activities provide their own unique cognitive development, and offer skills that enrich their participants lives. If one was to ban children from these activities, it would be the same as chaining them to their school desk and only allowing them the fundamental subjects of general education.
