  • Yes, the Internet should be used only for educational purposes.

Children should only use the Internet for educational purposes. When allowing kids free reign online, parents are setting them up for inappropriate interactions. Internet use for socialization can also lead to cyber bullying and potential contact from predators. Parents should set restrictions for how their children are using the Internet in their homes.

  • Education is the key

Children should use the internet for educational purposes and I include in those educational purposes socializing. Socializing isn't exclusive of education. Socializing is in fact essential to education. The internet is a wonderful facilitator of many objectives and it should be used liberally in pursuit of these objectives, whether it is education or socializing.

  • Children Need to Learn How to Use Social Media

Social media is an extremely important function of the web these days. Using it requires finesse and a lot of information about how to avoid scams and predators. Children need to practice using social media with the assistance of and supervision from parents so that they will have the full set of skills they need to thrive as adults. Therefore, children need to use the internet for both education and social purposes.

  • Child should use the Internet for both

I think that children should be allowed to use the Internet for both education and socializing. The Internet is good way to find information that will be pertinent for learning, but it also a good way to socialize with family that may not be in the general area. Socialization and any interaction on the Internet by children should be monitored, but I think it is acceptable.
