Should copies of software be allowed in any country

Asked by: Naveen3
  • Because its a yes

Because.Humanity is amazing because we can share our collective knowledge and grow as a civilization. Keeping software and ideas locked down keeps knowledge from proliferating, and actively slows down the advancement of the human race. That being said, our market economy is driven by profit, and there's no profit in sharing. Ideas and knowledge should be open to the pubic so we can absorb ideas and continue to innovate, but that can't happen until we find a better system than capitalism.

  • No it should not be allowed

No it should not be allowed. Can you imagine how much programming it takes to make a software package. For someone else to just copy it and sell it for a much cheaper price, the person who programmed the package will loose business and the software copies don't always work as good as the original software. If people make copies they should be severely punished or put in jail.
