  • No one is above the law

Police officers, as law enforcers, should be held to the same standard as any citizen and if they break the law or choose when and when not to enforce the law, should be punished even more severely than the average citizen. Corrupt cops are not worthy to carry the badge.

  • Uphold the Law

If a corrupt cop has done something illegal, all repercussions and consequences of the law should be applied to them as well. Nobody is above the law. How can we hold certain standards to the public if the authority figures we're supposed to trust are corrupt and nothing is done about it?

  • Yes. Cops are not above the law.

Cops are sworn to uphold the law. If they break the law, they should be held accountable for their choices and actions just like anyone else. If they are allowed to walk free, then sooner or later more cops will become corrupt. Holding them accountable is also a preventative measure for more corruption.

  • Any person breaking the law should be penalized

If a police officer is found to be corrupt, then I would believe that laws have been broken. If a person breaks the law, it shouldn't matter their job. They should face the consequences of their actions. I actually believe that someone who is sworn to uphold the law should be held to higher standards when it comes to the law.

  • Yes, corrupt police officers should be held accountable for their crimes.

There are both good and bad civilians and there are both good and bad police officers. People who commit crimes should be punished, regardless of status.
