Should doctors who participate in medical torture be sued in civil courts?

  • Lawsuits should extend to civil courts

Doctors who participate in medical torture should be sued in civil courts. This is because victims should have the opportunity to sue the physicians for a lot of money. They should be compensated for their pain and emotional troubles and times spent out of work. The only way to do get justice is often to resort to the civil courts for this.

  • They committed a tort.

Yes, doctors who participate in medical torture should be sued in civil courts, because what they have done amounts to a tort. To commit a tort, a person must owe a duty to another and breach that duty, resulting in damages. A doctor who tortures a patient has violated their duty to the patient. They deserve to be sued.

  • A common criminal

If a doctor is committing some type of medical torture, than they are breaking the law, and need to be taken to court and prosecuted for them just like any other criminal. If they are breaking the law, they should not be exempt from justice just because they are doctors.

  • Yes they should.

Any doctor that participates in medical torture should be sued for that in civil courts. I think it is a terrible thought to think a doctor, someone who is supposed to help others, is spending time doing the exact opposite. They went to medical school to save lives, no make them worst.

  • Criminal Courts As Well

I believe doctors who participate in medical torture should face charges in criminal courts as well as be sued in civil courts. Medical torture shouldn't be allowed or justified in any context and it certainly shouldn't be overlooked by criminal courts. I'm not aware of this being a problem within the United States.
