Yes, Donald should be trusted to serve in a public office, and he has done a great job while working as the Secretary of Defense for our nation. He has been in politics for a very long time, and knows how to treat the people fairly and represent them right.
There's a reason that Donald Rumsfeld has never been elected to public office, and it's because that would require too much accountability on his part. Rumsfeld is a corrupt member of the one percent, complicit in the looting of the American treasury for his military industrial complex buddies. He would never survive the scrutiny that comes with an election.
Donald Rumsfeld is a business man. He will continue to be a business man. What he does is what's best for business. Whats best for business is what's best for donald rumsfeld. He was also the secretary of defense under george w bush. That cannot be good. We all know how that went.
Donald Rumsfeld was right in the front lines of the war in Iraq, the response to 9/11 and the failure to capture Osama bin Laden. Rumsfeld could not be trusted to serve in the government again in any capacity. He did not get the job done in Iraq. Gates did. He did not get bin Laden. Gates did that too. Robert Gates had to clean up his mess. He started the mess but he could not clean it up.
Rather or not Donald Rumsfeld can be trusted in public office is a moot point. He resigned from office and essentially left politics behind in 2006. He has showed no interest in returning as his image was greatly reduced while working for the Bush administration, an administration that ended up smearing several politicians careers.
