Should driving licenses be given at the age of 18 and not 16?

  • Unsafe for teens

The driving age should be changed to 18 because teens are easily killed by car crashes. More 16 year olds get into crashes than 30-59 year olds, and be getting them of the rode, it would save the lives of many Teens. Raising the driving age to 18 could prevent the deaths caused by crashes of 16-17 year olds, as well as everyone else on the road.

  • Yes, It Should be Raised

Teens 16-18 are usually caught not wearing a seat belt, texting, or drinking and driving. I think 18 is still quite young, but it would be better for safety. Many 16 or 17 year olds aren't responsible for their actions, and they can get in serious accidents they can't afford to die from or pay for.

  • Not that long

Raising the driving age by two years isn't that much if you really think about it. Two years isn't a long time, especially if you have to live with the results of a crash for the rest of your life. Two years, or the rest of your life? You decide.

  • Do not make it higher

Mainly the driving age is what it is because of hight and weight. And 16 year olds just meet that hight and weight. Why make it higher when we are fine where we are. 16. Take off the limit of age and add a weight limit. And hight limit. 16-15.

  • We all need experience..

I dont think that its right that they should raise the driving age to 18 because it wont make much difference what age you start driving at. You need to start somewhere. It dosnt matter what your age is because you will have the same experience at 16 or 18 so ether way it makes no difference when we start driving. And 16 year olds get apprenticeships and need a form of transport. Some people cant get busses where they live so they need a car. Its a daft Idea changing the limit.

  • And maturity does not matter

Maturity is not a factor, a forty year old man can be as immature as a five year old. And a 14-16 year old can be as mature as an older person. It really depends on personality and experiece. If your fourteens and have someone teaching you to drive you'll be more prepared for driving when your sixteen.

  • Experience is needed

Driving is a skill that is acquired by gaining experience, and the best way to do this is to start at an earlier age. Driving isn't something that you can pick up right off away. It is said that it takes about 5 years to experience most situations while driving.

  • Responsibility and the future.

Most teens that I have known are to focused on their futures to do something stupid such as driving drunk, should everyone be punished for a negative stereotype? I don't think so, many teens also have jobs that require transportation to and from, how are they supposed to keep those jobs and responsibilities if they are denied a license because past generations, such as the ones now making the laws, have occasionally made a stupid mistake.

  • Don't raise it.

If the driving age is raised then we could have more immature drivers. If the age is lowered or even stays the same then that's gourd because it would force the young adult to mature. Having a licence gives the teen a since of importantance. Life is hard enough for teens why make it harder

  • Dont change the driving age!!!!

Dont change it!!! When i get to that age it might go up and then i have to wait more!! And 16 year old kids will listen and 18 year olds will say i know everything and probably not listen to anyone. That is why i think the driving should NOT change!
