Should English be the official language of the US?

  • Yes, we speak English here

Yes, English should be the official language of the United States, and there is nothing wrong or shameful about it. Italy speaks Italian, Korea speaks Korean, Russia speaks Russian, etc., the list can go on and on. If you go to those places, you have to either speak the language or hire a translator. Why should the US be any different? Why should we cater to other nationalities who come here? If they are too lazy to learn English, it's their problem, not ours.

  • English Rules US

More people in the U.S. Speek english than any other language. There fore english should be the official language of the United States of America. Even my friend agree with me that english should be the official language of the U.S. My statement is clear. English should be the official language of the U.S

  • The United States prices itself on being a country of DIVERSITY

Making English the official language would cause a less diverse population. The Definition of diversity is ( According to the Merriam Webster dictionary)

: the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc.

: the state of having people who are different races or who have different cultures in a group or organization

If we did make english the official language we would restrict the amount of ideas and cultures in America, and then could therefore no longer call our country diverse.
