  • Diversity is an aspect of United States culture.

The United States is a country comprised of people with very different ethnic backgrounds. In order for our culture to exist peacefully, it is important for us to integrate ourselves as much as possible. Ethnocentric schools encourage segregation and promote one culture as better than another. This can ultimately lead to parochial views that divide communities or even the nation at large. For this reason, ethnocentric schools should not be publicly funded.

  • Keep it privately funded if that's what you want.

Speaking from an American perspective, there is no place for publicly funded ethnocentric schools in our country. We fought for decades for equality, and I will not have any part of this argument for public funding for such educational facilities. To me, it seems like a smokescreen for people who are trying to get segregation back on the books. Reject it.
