Should false rape be a crime so people would feel less incline to make them?

Asked by: CaptainDogma
  • False accusations of any crime ARE illegal

They just don't tend to prosecute these things on the grounds that it would discourage people who actually were assaulted from coming forward.

Beyond that, it would be hard to prove in most cases, just as rape itself is hard to prove. When you have a situation of 'said event happened in private between two people with no other witnesses, leaving evidence to the testimony of each party' no matter what the specific crime is, you will have a hard time proving it one way or the other.
