Should fracking be put on hold until the EPA determines the best waste management techniques?

  • We should ban it altogether.

Unless we somehow find a way to prevent it from creating earthquakes, contaminating water, destroying the environment, AND balance the economic inequality, then we could continue fracking. But that's most likely not going to happen, so we should ban fracking altogether. We should do something about fracking before it gets out of hand and depletes everything.

  • Fracking should be put on hold until the EPA determines the best waste management techniques.

Fracking should be put on hold until the EPA determines the best waste management techniques. The problem is that it creates a health concern with the waste and until it is put on hold then they should stop doing it. Fracking creates a lot of controversy and problems everywhere in the U.S.

  • Yes, we need to learn more about fracking

We don't know a great deal about the long term implications of fracking, so its probably best that we learn more about the environmental impact of fracking, including how to manage the waste, before we allow it to continue on its current scale. We should definitely stop fracking until we can determine how to manage the waste.

  • Fracking destroys the enviroment

Based on all of the environmental evidence shown in multiple reputable documentaries, Fracking should be put on hold and possibly discontinued. The process alone contaminates water sources, causes severe and fatal illness in animals and humans, and destroys our environment. The fact that you can light your faucet water on fire after the companies have come in and tapped your natural gas source is disgusting and dangerous.

  • Not fracking will result in more net pollution.

Fracking may not be 100% clean as far as a way of getting energy, but fracking produces cheaper, cleaner energy than alternative fuels and can go a long way to reducing emissions. As nice as it would be for the EPA to have its ducks in a row, the cost to the environment of a fracking hold would be far more destructive environmentally than the alternative.

  • No, I don't think fracking should be put on hold until the EPA determines the best waste management techniques.

The fracking industry is just getting started and is a booming industry, the Government putting it on hold to study the best waste management techniques would kill the industry and billions in investment, I think that the current methods should be used now and the EPA can introduce more efficient methods rapidly without having to put fracking on hold.
