  • Yes, Gas prices should be lowered. As a nation that depends on gas on a daily basis, it is imperative to keep costs reasonable.

Given the high demand of gas in day to day living, and the lack of other options, such as electric cars, or steam powered engines. People are forced to buy gas. By having no choice but to pay prices, no matter how high they are, it appears that the gas, and oil companies are taking advantage of consumers. I am not an expert on the subject. However, it seems that these companies are hitting record high profits. While consumers are taking the hit. With the advances in technology, we should be able to minimize the cost of the fuel that our world has come to depend on.

  • Gas prices MUST be lowered

From what I learned, gas are rising every year. A lot of people have to put gas in their cars at this time. In the future electric cars should begin to be more famous. But that will be years ahead, maybe even centuries away. I'm sure that pretty soon gas will cost like 5 dollars a gallon

  • Anything that has our politicians involvement is a market everyone needs to watch closely.

Trend Setters For There Own Future. If our acclaimed government is involved, expect we'll be pay out the backend for it. Could they do a better job of regulating gas prices? Yes they can! Do they want to? No they don't! Why? Well that just wouldn't be profitable would it? The more control they have, the higher the cost of living. It's a inside political trend. The only other wide spread market that could bring in more Doe Ray Me or just as much as gas, is water another natural recourse. We need to be careful here because air is next in line. How can we acquire more tax revenue asks our leaders. Well let's hike the price of fuel, so freight goes up. There's more tax revenue there. The produce and everything else that gets shipped on our soil, that goes up. There's more tax revenue there. Anything to make a buck. Their not for the people any more it sadly seems. So what do we do? Just vote on it? I don't know much about this site but what is Debate.Com doing to change the tides? I have a few suggestions ; ) if the creators are interested.

  • Gas prices should be lowered.

    1. I don't believe that there is such a "shortage" of fuel, as the government wants to make us believe. I think they are getting rich, lining their pockets with our money.

Let's face the facts here....If it was true that there was such a shortage, they would be desperate in finding other means of fueling our vehicles. They seem immune to all the "big scares" among the community that this world is going to run out of fuel. If we were actually running out of fuel, that would mean that even the very rich wouldn't be able to get around...And even if they could..Stores would be out of business, etc.

Where would our food and other needs come from then? I think that someone would desperately be seeking a plan for our future.

    2. It's killing our economy. Soon the middle class will be wiped out. We will only have the rich and the poor. With fuel prices increasing, everything increases, except our wages...So those middle class people who "live comfortably" will find it more and more difficult to make ends meet...And will soon find themselves scraping just to get by.

    3. Many businesses will be hurting, more than ever. With the rise in gas prices, vendors have to increase their prices to compensate for their extra shipping charges. In turn, less people are buying things they really aren't "necessities", as they are trying to keep their heads above water with the rising costs all around us.

  • Gas prices should be lowered

Gas prices should be lowered because the populace generally does not like to pay more money than they used to for gasoline and they have mobilized with a large enough voice to the legislators that something should be done about this. Hence, finding a solution to lower gas prices is advantageous to politicians. Of course, some would argue the other way and say that car travel is already heavily subsidized as is.

  • Petrol Prices should remain as they are.

People are becoming more dependent on fuel, a non-renewable resource every year for their basic everyday needs, such as cooking, transportation and so on. Fuel is an extremely precious and limited resource on earth with only about 53.3 years remaining in supply. If we lower our petrol prices, people will continue think it is okay to spend more money on petrol because it is cheap and is 'okay' as long as it benefits them. However, have you ever thought of the ever-growing hole in the ozone layer widening due to the increase of greenhouse gases? If the ozone layer is weakening, meaning that the sun's rays would scorch the earth and every living thing on it quicker, resulting in disastrous results. Greenhouse gases are carbon emissions which are harmful to the environment. Sure trees and plants release oxygen but they are being cut down each and every year. No matter how reforestations happen, the environment is slow to recover, just like any living thing.
People can take on a healthier lifestyle if petrol prices increase and remain as they are because they want to save money. People may say that people will lose jobs and won't do financially well, however, this is not exactly true. There are several employment services such as Max Employment that help those who have lost a job or need one to support themselves and their family. Also, there are several conferences and meetings that are free that help those who aren't doing to so well financially, giving them tips and advice on how to save money.
If petrol prices do increase, companies can add in extra bonuses to customers' purchases.

Petrol prices should remain as they are or increase to help save the environment, ozone layer and OUR Earth.

  • Gas Prices Should Climb

Economically it makes no sense for gas prices to fall significantly. Gas prices in the United States are already held at artificially low prices, which is obvious when you visit other countries. Gas is not a finite resource and will eventually run out, therefore the price should continue to escalate until the resource is completely used up or falls out of favor.

  • No, gas prices should not be lowered.

The price of gas fluctuates with supply and demand, we should not artificially lower the cost of buying it if the cost to the drilling/exporting company is very high. It would be nice, of course, to have access to cheap gas, but that's unrealistic if the price is for companies to access it.

We should focus on alternatives to gasoline.

  • No, the price of gas should continue to climb.

It all comes down to the law of supply and demand. There is a limited quantity of oil on this planet. As our society demands more and more fuel and the supply is used up, prices can, must, and will go up. This is not really a bad thing because the increasing cost will put pressure on us to find alternative fuel sources and learn to use what we have more efficiently.

This is a bad question. There's not someone just sitting at a desk with a magical button that determines gas prices. No one has control over the price, so there is no "should" or "shouldn't."
