Should Germany revert back to its own currency and leave the Euro Zone?

  • Germany was stronger alone.

Yes, Germany should revert back to its own currency and leave the Euro Zone, because all Germany does now is prop up other countries that have not been as financially responsible. Germany is the strong country. All of the other countries are demanding to piggy back on their success, when they haven't been able or willing to make sacrifices. Germany should go it alone.

  • The Euro is a bad deal.

The Euro will not be a sustainable currency in the long run. For one thing, it's terribly overvalued as it is, supported on the supposedly full faith, credit and resources of its member nations. Some of whom (Greece) can't even pay their own bills. If enough nations around Germany have problems, it devalues the Euro -- and it's gonna happen. Germany is better to go off on its own again.

  • Germany should revert back to its own currency and leave the Euro Zone.

It is clear that the Euro is not a good currency for Germany. Europe has too many different economies for all of the countries to share a single currency. Greece should also revert back to the drachma. Each central bank should be able to determine the interest rates that are better their own particular economy.

  • Germany should revert back to its own currency and leave the Euro Zone.

Germany should revert back to its own currency and leave the Euro Zone. In the beginning this would ultimately hurt the value of the Euro but could recover in time. I think it is time for Germany to finally stand their ground and go back to using the drachma and remove themselves from the control Germany has placed upon them.

  • Euro Zone Collapses at That Point

Germany is the strongest national economy in the Euro Zone at this point. If it reverts back to the deutsche mark, the Euro Zone won't have the backing of its most robust economy and the euro becomes a worldwide joke. If Germany discusses an exit from the Euro Zone, other countries had better be prepared to do the same unless Great Britain comes in and gets rid of the pound in favor of the regional currency.
