Should the government provide funding for post-secondary students?

  • The government should provide funding or post-secondary education.

I understand that as an American we may be taxed more. But, that is better then being in debt 10,000 dollars or more, which most graduates and non-graduates are. I rather have a higher tax rate than in debt thousands of dollars. The point of attending post-secondary school for most people is to transition into a certain area of fieldwork or job. No matter if they become a lawyer or stock broker they're more than likely are going to be in debt or have already paid back a loan from attending school. It seems as if the ones with the money only care for themselves and their families. As a resourceful country we sure do not seem to use our first and foremost resource-brain.

  • Yes, the government should pay for everyone's post-secondary education.

All the college students in the town or in country should be educated. Being educated can lead the students to become a very helpful person or have a meaningful job in the future. And this will lead the people in the country to be grown and raised educationally. By government helping these people, can less pressure the family or the college students from them having a hard time preparing for their college tuition and etc. for the preparation for the college. Putting less pressure to these people from money can help them very a lot to study harder than before. And this could be the best way for the government to help and encourage the student.

  • Post-graduate education is almost essential for careers

Post-graduate education is very expensive but often necessary for career advancement. The government should provide funding for post-secondary students - they often become doctors, dentists, lawyers, scientists, and educators. All of those are essential to society and that many years of study are costly, so the government should help with funding.

  • Yes, and it should be increased

Without government funding for Pell grants and loans, less people would be able to afford college. This country needs an educated workforce, and high school is not cutting it any more. So, the more people go to college, the more informed and skilled the workforce becomes. It's just a common reality.

  • Yes, the government should provide funding for post-secondary students because it will benefit our society.

Educating our society is one way to end poverty, violence, unemployment. The more education a person has, the more choices they get, which in return means the less reliant they will be on the government. In the long-run, the government saves money by investing in the future of our society through educational support. Canada has a good way of handling post-secondary education by making it available to everyone. While some people may not choose to use it, it is available and will ensure a more educated community.

  • Continuing education is a must.

Further education beyond high school is becoming more of a necessity in today's modern world. The struggle today though is being able to pay for the education when prices keep exploding far above the rate of inflation. Today's world is becoming more technologically advanced with every new day, and the government should help those who can not get the education we will need for the future due to finances.

  • To be successful in this economy, it is imperative that one must have acquired more than just a high school diploma.

The government should provide funds for students looking to further their education. The option to further one's education should be available to everyone. By offering grants and funds, the government is investing in the future of this country. These post-secondary students will soon be the ones making these decisions of high importance in society. Educating the future will enable us to make fewer mistakes than people in the past.

  • No it should not be increased.

Simply because where is the government getting the money to pay for college funds. Learn about the articles of confederation, america was bankrupt because they weren't allowed to tax (and each state was making different types of money). So therefore the government would tax us more thanks to our wonderful president (I'm a Republican) we owe trillions of dollars to china and the new deal, we buy there oil, which we have plenty of, they stop making nuclear weapons we are going to owe them more. So we get taxed, we go bankrupt and its an never ending cycle of bad economy spiraling downward.
