  • A thief used our guns to kill our parents

Guns are for war, they are made to kill, they are made to make killing easier and faster, at a higher range and higher quantity of victims. There is no such thing as a protection rifle, even if you have a gun you won't be ready all the time, and even if you are the chances of you getting it out of your holster are slim to none even if you do will you pull the trigger before the maniac? And even if you do will the bullets go through the walls killing people you too are now a mass murderer or will you know like a professional how to land a shot that will stop the attacker? Most mass shooting are stopped by one of the victims that doesn't have a gun. Guns are for killing only, they should be banned.

  • Guns are for killing

Guns help killers kill faster and more effectively, that is all they are for, there are no protection rifles, and even if you have a gun, you're more likely to shoot yourself than a bad guy, and the bad guy is not only not going to hesitate to shoot you, they aren't going to have to reach for a weapon they'll have it pointed at you already, and even if you managed to get it out, it requires about 300 hours of training to actually be legally pronounced ready to defend anyone with a firearm without being another mass shooter. And even if you are trained, you aren't going to be prepared all the time, guns are killing machines and should be banned.

  • Americans do not have the right...

I'll tell you why. Your fancy Constitution states "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

So, by American gun nuts saying they have their God-given "right" that every American is in a militia? Deduce about what I quoted earlier.
A militia, being the patriots, were allowed guns in order to bring security to the new United States at the time. But 1776 is long, long gone. The United States is in no danger, in fact your government is the one bringing danger to other countries.
Nor do I see some massive civil war on American soil; that means every American needs a gun? Until American soil is TRULY in danger I see no use to the Second Ammendment as it means that IF THE U.S. IS IN DANGER, THEN A GROUP OF PEOPLE (MILITIA) BEING FORMED TO HELP DEFEND AMERICA ARE ALLOWED GUNS.

    Period.

  • Guns are not a God given right

Guns should not be a born right. The argument that "criminals will find a way to get guns anyways, so making it harder to get them is pointless" is completely and utterly invalid. That is like saying "well, druggies find a way to get drugs anyway, so we might as well just make heroin available in every drug store across the country". This makes no sense. The mere statistics alone should clue most people in that maybe giving every person easy access to a gun is a horrible idea. "A study by two New York City cardiologists found that the U.S. has 88 guns per 100 people and 10 gun-related deaths per 100,000 people - more than any of the other 27 developed countries they studied.
Japan, on the other hand, had only .6 guns per 100 people and .06 gun-related deaths per 100,000 people, making it the country with both the fewest guns per capita and the fewest gun-related deaths." The correlation between gun ownership and gun related death is undeniable. How can the US look at countries such as the United Kingdom and Canada, both of which are developed countries with tight gun restrictions, and then look at their homicide rates in comparison and NOT see the correlation. WAKE UP AMERICA. Guns are unnecessary and outdated and only a select amount of people should have access to such weapons. It sickens me to look at your country and not see anyone doing anything significant about this issue.

  • Yes we should

The 2nd right states "right to bear arms". The criminals will be able to get guns the same way they gets drugs. The guns are not the problems the people are. The 9th right states "these rights are unchangeable and will last forever. How will we protect our selfs if we have no guns. If some one breaks in and has a gun (that they stole) what will you do? The answer is get shot. If u had a gun may may have stood a chance.

  • Gun rights for the good or bad.

God guts and guns made this country great. As long as America has stood we have used guns to help solve its problems. There are those that believe and/or say that guns should either be licensed and/or taken away. But the is another side to it. Others believe that gun right s should stay the way they are.

  • Guess we'll have to use knives

Despite the extreme lack of regulation on guns, we should keep them. How else do we defend ourselves against the other person with a gun, a knife? Guns kill. Guns should be heavily regulated, but not taken away. Mandatory hand/thumb print activation on guns would help. This way the wrong person can't use your gun, unless they are extremely good with electronics, which I'm guessing most thieves are not. It will cost more, but what is a life worth? A child's life? Don't put a price on protection/prevention. It's time to stop making drama and start acting sensibly and with reason, no emotion, only structure and integrity.

  • That's what there made for

  • Taking them away wont help

What are you going to do once they take your gun away there is still something called the black market i mean if a shooter walks in all big and bad with his brand new gun he wont settle for hugs and rainbows kisses wont solve everything i mean if you think criminals will obey gun laws you are a special kind of stupid

  • Keeping Guns REDUCES CRIME

Its as simple as this, If a state enforces strict gun laws, the general public will follow those rules, right, but you have to remember, we have criminals who don't follow the rules and will get guns however they can, whether its through the Black Market, or through the Deep Web, there gonna find them and acquire them. So now lets put you in the criminal's prospective, would you rather rob someone that has no form of self-defense, or would you rob someone with a form of self-defense who will probably most likely shoot you? You would go for the easier target, the person with no form of self-defense.

  • 2nd Amendment Protects The Others

These percentages are truly scary. Anybody for abolishment have probably never handled a firearm, consume the rotten media 24/7, and don't truly understand our country's upbringing. It's more about the long-term (tyranny) safe-guarding rather than the short-term. Why destroy the 1 thing that created and protects this country? Growing lack of responsibility in our upcoming generations for starters.

  • Its Just Wrong

You people who say guns should be banned, GO OUT AND GET A LIFE! There is better things than sitting here and trying to take away one of our 27 AMENDMENTS. Its Un-Contitutional, and just flat out stupid that you think guns are bad. I grew up in a hunting family, who hunted a lot. If i dont have guns, i cant pass down a tradition. We will always have gun rights, and you cant say anything. Go ahead and try, and it will all be a load of crap.

  • Only Law Abiding Citizens

Only the law abiding citizens would be the ones following the law and that would leave those citizens defenseless. Plus after the law has been passed and the guns have been taken away it will just create a stronger black market for guns that will grow out of control. After so many law abiding citizens get killed without a way to defend themselves will create a larger group of people not following the law therefore creating a even bigger criminal state.

  • Blame the guilty not the gun

No matter how you put it, the world in itself is a dangerous place...I blame rap culture and the pussification of American society due to political correctness, but i digress...The world is dangerous...Thats a fact. The life of a human being isnt worth as much as it used to be, people have become accepting to violent acts. The point is that if someone wants to kill or hurt you they will find a way be it either a gun, a knife, a pen or even a bloody paperclip. The ultimate answer is to allow people to be armed as to deter those with evil intentions. Trust me, i spent years in the military and i know the power of show of force. No matter what a person is armed with, if that person knows that you are armed as well, due to that individuals natural instinct to preserve his/her own life, they will be very cautious or even deterred from any attempt in harming you. Now if youre going to spout off things youve seen on t.v. or read in the paper like the tragedies in San Bernadino California or at the Army base in Texas you should consider the fact that in BOTH of those places the victims were unarmed...Yes folks, even on military bases most of the personnel are unarmed with the exception of the security forces. This is the perfect example of how gun control DOES NOT WORK. In fact such measures are unconstitutional and they give the police forces too much power...Much like Hitler did when he first took power. If you dont believe me look it up...He disarmed the citizens then turned Germany into a police state. Thats exactly the kind of unbalance tyrents rely on to push their agendas....You limit or take away the peoples ways to defend themselves....And then you can do as you wish. Think about it
