  • Nice pro gun argument Dilara

Criminal will get them anyway like they do with drugs and use them against a defenseless law abiding citizen. According to the cdc guns are used 400,000 times a year to save lives and 30,000 times a year to kill people. Most of those 30,000 people could not be saves by gun control considering that 7000 are gang related and gangsters get guns anyway since they traffic illegal objects. Guns are tools and you can't stop the killing by getting rid of a tool you have to get rid of the reason that makes people kill.

  • Guns should be legal.

This is so because of the second amendment. It obviously states that guns are legal. If we banned guns we would not only go against the constitution but the crime rate would go up. In conclusion banning guns would not only be bad but it would make crime go up.

  • There are several reasons

Guns should be completely legal. Taking guns from law-abiding citizens only puts them in danger of criminals who will have guns whether or not guns are illegal. The right to bear arms is listed in the second amendment in order to insure the common person is capable of protecting themselves from other citizens and, more importantly, political and militant tyrants whether domestic or foreign.
Guns do not kill people, guns are simply inanimate tools that can be used for good or bad things (similar to knives and other simple tools). Outlawing guns does not protect anyone, it only makes others vulnerable to those who want to take advantage of them.

  • If guns should be illegal then so should spoons and cars

The claim that guns kill people and cause crime is like saying that spoons cause obesity or cars cause car wrecks. The fact of the matter is that they don't as they are inanimate tools that have to be controlled by a person. What should be considered is a law requiring proper gun safety for everyone and to blame the people not the guns

  • Your better off banning baseball bats

You gun haters make me sick, Guns save more lives than they do harm. Over 200,00 women Annually used a gun in self defense to stop from sexual abusers. Guns used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year or about 6,850 times a day. This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives. Notice how all these tragic shootings happen in places where guns aren't allowed. I can't remember the last time i saw a shooting like that in a gun store or places where a the citizens are actually armed. Look at the facts

  • In the Bill of rights

It is written in the bill of rights that we have "the right to bear arms". Should people be allowed fully-automatic rifles, no, but they should at least have guns to defend themselves, their property and family. There will still be crimes with illegal guns it will be the same as the ban on alcoholic beverages, it won't stop them and there will be a massive black market for them. Gangs will make there own guns and stockpile on guns they had before. How are people gonna defend themselves with these gangster with this black market of guns.

  • Human Vs Human

In this world, A criminal is not going to give 2 hoots about if Congress legalize guns. If a man comes in you're home with a ill;egal gun. What now..? It's a avergae 70 seconds for police to come, In 30 you and your family could be hurt/stolen. Now Having a Tazer Will due mininuim damage As In he can still shoot you, even before you take it out. Sinc eit needs prepartion to fire/ A bat is like a butter knife trying to cut a 8 inch log of wood. Now having a weapon.. Like a Glock 17 will hit them instatnly without a hesatation. Making it also legal gives you a advantage Now you can protect you and your family. And your 2nd amendment right's.

  • Firearms are tools

A gun can only kill as many as it is used against. As for accidental deaths, gun safety is taught to gun owners. How about, instead of screaming for the awful guns to stop killing people, try directing your efforts to keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, instead of taking them away from lawful and responsible gun owners?

  • Gun bans recieve a big fat F from me.

Two terrible flaws in gun bans:

A:It provides perfect conditions for totalitarian dictatorship. Just ask an expert like Kim Jong Il

B.CRIMINALS. DO. NOT. FOLLOW. LAWS. PERIOD! Common sense people!

Need I say more? Stop hiding under liberal shells and pretending they will keep you safe. I just hate to break it to the liberals, but you cannot effectively take guns out of the equation.

  • All people thinking that guns should be illegal sadden me.

Guns are used in many robberies and mass killings, this is true, but making guns illegal won't help the US that much. After guns are made illegal, gangs may enter the premises of police and raid the guns. Families like mine who hold up their right to arm themselves may riot or protest the act, which could lead to civil war or massive firefights. If no one put up a fight though, people are still going to commit murders and robberies. They'll start using knives. Then knives will become illegal. They'll start using bats and hammers. People are born into violence and some will choose to follow that path. People need to be able defend themselves from others that pose a threat. You may say that the police can defend you because they will be armed. I'll tell you why this won't work. The average interaction between a criminal and his victim in 90 seconds. The average police response time is 4+ minutes. 4 minutes is plenty of time for a intruder with any weapon to burst through your door and shoot or rob you. A bullet though travels at 2,500 feet per second. That's plenty fast enough to stop a criminal. So to sum it up, a bullet can stop an attacker faster than a police can arrive at your location. This is the reason I think that guns should stay legal. I'm not saying that cops don't respond fast enough. I'm just saying that an armed civilian can respond to his or her attacker faster.

  • Guns should be illegal.

This is because of the shear amount of irresponsible deaths caused by these deadly weapons, huge loss of authoritarian control and the paranoia that comes with it. The 2nd amendment has become counterproductive since 1920s when organized crime appeared on the playing field.

The argument that guns reduce crime is false. Crime in countries where guns are in short supply is better than that of the USA. Take Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway for example. Countries like Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Russia, China, and in the Middle East where guns are plentiful are in total chaos.

It only makes it easier for organized crime to get the upper hand over the governing authorities creating an every growing lawless area within society. Why the USA has such a big gang problem to begin with making any efforts to confront it futile. It also invites paranoia especially within the police force that kills indiscriminately claiming self-defense while it creates smoke and mirrors to avoid prosecution making them corrupt. It also makes normal citizens more likely to take justice into their own hands playing judge, jury and executioner.

Many Americans bigots Hiding behind the 2nd amendment contradict themselves when they casually consider their guns to be toys for entertainment and recreation which they are not meant for. While they claim to part of the militia that will overthrow the corrupt government in a moment notice. Which will never happen no matter how arrogant they are.

The constitution is not god’s creation. This law was made at a time of need and created a form of stability. Now it’s become a law supported by selfish and/or paranoid greed and increasing entropy caused by the amount of available guns. A snowball effect in the making.

In conclusion it's an immoral system, its become counterproductive, it increases the influence of organized crime, invites corruption within the police force, creates paranoia, it can’t be regulated or restricted and should be abolished.

  • It's simple; Guns kill

People owning guns have been involved in more accidents than it's worth. Besides poverty, guns are pretty much one of the major reasons that crime has grown in the first place.

Don't you think that maybe we don't actually need guns to survive, considering the fact that we already have effective ways of farming fruits and vegetables and of obtaining safe shelter?

  • That's a stupid idea

Criminal will get them anyway like they do with drugs and use them against a defenseless law abiding citizen. According to the cdc guns are used 400,000 times a year to save lives and 30,000 times a year to kill people. Guns are tools and you can't stop the killing by getting rid of a tool you have to get rid of the reason that makes people kill.

  • Guns is wrong

    1. Allowing citizens to possess guns means that the government does not deny the fact that their police force is impotent. It is an act of giving up, showing that even the authority cannot control the situation. If they cannot even control when guns possession is limited (only available in black market), how can they possibly control when almost all the citizens have it? Moreover, giving up is a bad action when it comes from a government. A government should stay confident with his police force. If the citizens realize this (and i think they have), it will lead to desperation. They think that even the government cannot protect them, thus they give them a tool to defend themselves.

    2. In court, there is a limitation for something to be considered a self-defense or a desirable attack. If your attacker is proven didnt have any gun when they attack you, shooting them with a gun will be considered a desirable attack on a helpless and pathetic attacker. Even if the attacker has a gun, does not mean that you can pull the trigger right away. If the court can prove that your attacker didnt pull his gun, shooting him will also result in you going to jail. Unfortunately, most gun possessors dont understand this, they thought that as long as they are being attacked and the attacker has a gun, they can pull it right away. Mostly, though, because they are very nervous; they are in a situation which pressure them the most, they know that it is a matter of life and death, thus they have to act quickly and they thought, "oh, i have gun. Why dont i use it now?" without thinking about the situation thoughtfully.

    3. Legalizing something just because it cant be control is a very selfish statement. Because if it is true, then all kind of crimes should be made legal. Drugs should be made legal, because government cant control it and it will make a good business for the people though. But we know that this will only lead to a chaotic and uncontrollable society due to the government tendency to give up.

    4. Guns arent the same as any other weapon. The very reason why we cannot allow drones in war because it will make the war easy and safe. Psychologically, humans tend to do more when it is easy and has no risk. Guns possession has similar effect on people. They pick guns because it is easy to use, it just takes one finger to do it all. And they are safe because the government has allowed them to use it if they are under attack. People who possess gun tend to rely on their gun too much. It might be for self defense now, but when they have become a gun addict, they will be the attacker.

  • Of course not

Unfortunately, Americans seem to have become very hung up on their constitution. They like to claim it at every possible opportunity, they don't like to adapt. In the same way that in Saudi Arabia, Islam has not adapted and as a consequence, they virtually live in the Stone Age.

Americans need to ditch this, as a British citizen, I have only ever seen guns in the hands of police. I like it that way. If you get rid of guns, you get rid of the fear. It's time to get rid of the guns!

  • It shouldn't be legal

Guns should not be legal. If guns are or become legal, people will feel unsafe on streets. The world will turn chaotic. People who have ambitious goals will do anything in order to obtain power. Guns should not be legal because it will make the world an unsafe place and turn it into a chaotic mess.

believe in the advocation of gun training programs to reduce accidental discharges and the improvment of non lethal weapons such as taser.
