• Only for some

I think that families with children, elders, and the sick should pay full price for health insurance of their choice. The healthy should have to pay half price for health insurance (unless they become very ill) because they still have yearly visits. But if the healthy did not pay anything up until they had an 'issue' then the companies providing the services would be losing more money than receiving. (note:no hate please, I am only 13 and this is just an opinion you don't have to accept it, but thank you fro your consideration)

  • Yes, mandatory heath insurance is extremely needed.

People who are health do not have urgent need for having health insurance. Just like that some people may die without receiving as much benefit from heath insurance as the paid for their health insurances. But an important thing is people do not visit doctors until they have emergent situation without health insurance, which may cost a lot. And that expense is covered by taxpayers money. Money disappears worthlessly. With all the people having heath insurance, the money from healthy people will be used to treat other. And when they become sick they will receive benefit from other healthy people. Therefore, money will be circulated for the good purpose.

  • Instituting a right to health care could lower the cost of health care in the United States.

A 2013 study, under a single-payer system, in which all citizens are guaranteed a right to health care, total public and private health care spending could be lowered by $592 billion in 2014 and up to $1.8 trillion over the next decade due to lowered administrative. Per the American Medical Association, on average, private health insurance plans spend 11.7% of premiums on administrative costs vs. 6.3% spent by public health programs. Per a study in the American Journal of Public Health, Canada, a country that provides a universal right to health care, spends half as much per copied on health care as the United States. This is reason the second reason health care should be mandatory.

  • Only if provided by the government

Health insurance should not be a privilege, but a right provided to people by their government. So many people are left in incredible debt from unexpected medical conditions, usually impossible to prevent. Everyone should have the right to live happily and healthily no matter their income or class status. Private insurers who milk people for all their worth should be outlawed.

  • Health Care Costs Cause Hardship, But Mandatory Insurance Not Necessary

The federal government shouldn't force its ideals on anyone. When alcohol was banned during Prohibition, that measure was repealed. The same is true with forcing Americans to have health insurance or pay a penalty. Not everyone who should have health insurance needs such financial backing. Healthy Americans may not even want to get health insurance in the first place. Subsidies for those who don't have health care are expensive enough--American taxpayers don't need to foot the bill for everyone. Instead of mandatory health care, how about mandatory jobs?

  • I am a 17 year old high school student and I am doing a project about mandatory healthcare.

I believe that healthcare should not be mandatory... Everyone preeches that our nation is showing more and more poverty but nobody cares that its partially because we as american citizens are being forced to spend our money on healthcare when it should be for food and necessities. So many homeless people need help with shelter and having food but yet our government is set on "mandatory healthcare" for what? To "help our country have more moeny"? Am i right? Well we wouldnt need all this so called extra money if we had a president that knew what the heck he was doing in office rather than giving away our freedom to pay for what we need other than his obama care. It is absolutely ridiculous that we as americans are forced to pay for something that maybe atleast 60% of americans cant afford because they are having to feed and clothe their children. It is disgusting and just sad that our president put this law in place knowing that more than likely when he isnt president he wont be able to afford it either.

  • The passing of yet another freedom.

Federal healthcare should not be mandatory on the grounds that it would further limit our American freedoms. First it's healthcare, tomorrow it'll be mandatory child vaccination. The beauty of choice is the backbone of American greatness. The illegal immigrant eligibility is also a big problem to healthcare. The economy will crash on account of politic correct save-the-whales-kill-the-babies liberal lefties.

  • Breaks civil rights.

History shows that whenever the goverment gets involved with anything they screw it up. If you need proof, look at canada. So no, the feds should not have the right to force people who could maybe not afford it to buy screwed up insurance. Have a good one out there everybody!

  • Violation of Ciivil Rights

The federal government is literally turning America from a free unlimited land to a half limited land. First of all why should they care about us? I don't need health insurance my body is typically fine, and yet the officers tell me I need insurance or face jail time like wtf I did pay for it and it's stupid. Fuck the idiot who proposed this idea to be law

  • No, I don't think so.

We shouldn't be forced to hand significant amounts of money to greedy insurance companies in the business of trying to pay out the least possible amount of money. I pay for a service every paycheck, but when I do get sick, I can't take care of it. I would be better without insurance at all. I could put my money in the bank every week, and actually afford health care when I needed it.
Health insurance companies are a parasite on society. Get rid of the mandate for them.

  • Health Insurance Should Not Be Mandatory

Health Insurance affects many Americans, and it is there choice what they want to do with their health and lives. The government should force people to have health coverage, it should be the individuals choice to decide which path is the best one for themselves and for those they love.
