  • Well, it's more useful than most of the other stuff.

High schools mostly teach a bunch of useless stuff. Yeah, Math and Language arts are incredibly important. But unless you're a historian, you shouldn't have to know details of history. Unless you want to pursue a career in science, you shouldn't have to learn how to do chemistry and what have you. Driving classes would be the most useful long term class in high school ever.

  • They should teach more life skills

School is supposed to teach you skills to get by in real life. Driving is a MUST in this country, why wouldnt we want our professional teachers teaching a vital skill? It needs to be taken more seriously, drivers are bad in cities these days. Maybe it will help with all the accidents? Perhaps.

  • They definitely should

Schools should defininitely teach drivers ed. It would give students the opportunity to drive more before getting a licence and cost less for parents since it is included during the school day. I agree very very very very very much yess yess yess wooooo drivers ed is awesome idk why they stopped teaching it @ school

  • Teenagers should learn to drive in school.

It is important because these days knowing how to drive is one of the needed skill to commute to different places. I for one think it should be an optional class so that not everyone is forced to learn. Schools should be teaming up with driving schools so that everyone gets the chance to drive. Learning to drive is expensive and can be hard to fit around exams or work and high school is the perfect time to learn.

  • When else can you learn?

With many students going to University right after they graduate from high school, just fitting those practice sessions in as well as getting the perfect exam time is a chore. Almost all my fellow University students aiming to get their drivers license have had to reschedule the exam at least once due to schedule clashes, pushing back the exam time by months. However, I think it should be an optional class, so that people who really do not have any need to learn how to drive can instead opt to do something more productive with their time.

  • It would increase the amount of safe driving.

It is vitally important in today's society to learn the rules and regulations of driving. Almost everybody owns or is going to own a car so it is necessary for everybody to learn about it at an early age so they are brought up into adulthood realising what driving entails.

This way there will be less risks.

  • They sure should

Driving is essential in today's world and being that it is necessary for most of us to drive to get around, it's a useful educational course. It's definitely going to be needed. Why not offer it in school for free? It's so important to know! :) Plus it's better than going to the DMV any day.

  • Yes, they should.

I think that high school should hire people to teach students how to drive. Schools are supposed to be preparing us for our futures and that includes driving. High schools should give students the opportunity to learn how to drive during school because in the future, it gives them a means of transport and allows them to travel around easily. I believe that high schools should give students a chance to learn how to drive, without interfering with after school activities.

  • Not everyone needs it

Many people either don't want to learn to drive or don't have the need to learn to drive, and thus there is no point forcing them into a class when they don't need to drive, and thus don't care, or want to waste valuable academic time. There are barely enough hours in the school day as there is, most students do not have cars and do not have the ability to take the class, schools do not have the funding to buy the cars necessary, and larger schools wouldn't be able to teach very many.

  • No, because School poisons all that is fun.

Just look at education. I actually enjoy learning, but I hate learning at school. In fact the majority of students will say that they hate school. Why? Because school sucks the lifeblood out of anything that is fun and replaces it with conformity and boringness. Now if you make driving part of mandatory education at school you can guess what will happen. Driving must not be tainted by this evil that we call school. We might see the disappearance of Nascar, Formula 1, and Tokyo Drift all together.

  • No, there are other ways to learn to drive.

While it can be a nice and easy high school course to take, driving is extraneous to the learning environment. Parents can teach their kids, the handbook can be read on one's own and studied, or driving schools can be engaged. It does not seem as if we should be paying to teach kids to drive in public schools.
