  • Cost effective source of labor

I'm homeless and I think that homeless people should be rounded up by government agencies and put to work in exchange for being housed and fed. Take some homeless shelters examples. Some have programs that require homeless people to work for no monetary compensation whatsoever. That system works just fine so why make us homeless people have to struggle with trying to be self sufficient? Homeless people could be put to work at various businesses throughout the community and homeless shelters won't have to depend on government grants.
That saves tax payers money, gets the homeless off of the streets and makes citys safer places to live.

  • Of course its rejected to do that

You cant just call someone a criminal for not doing something specially that islam has told us to look after them and care for them by saying اما السائل فلا تنهر which means you should not raise your voice on someone who asks you for a need and we are just calling them that and treating them like this bad way

  • Of course its rejected to do that

  • It isn't a question- of course not

Do you want to be put in jail because you are homeless? Anyone in their right mind would say no. At some point, any one of us could be out there on the street. Why is it a crime to be homeless? It's our fault, we allowed the number of homeless to grow. So we are punishing them for our bad deed?

  • Arresting someone for not having a home?

Where is the logic in that?

If we are going to arrest a homeless person, arrest them if they hurt someone, not for not being housed.

I don't agree with stealing, but sometimes we have no choice. So many people steal out of actual need. We can't arrest them for that.

Remember Jean Valjean? He stole to feed his sister's starving family. Should he have been arrested?

  • Homeless People are not the problem

1 in 4 homeless people have at one point served our country. The others are either disabled or have a mental problem. How would you feel if you were persecuted for something you couldn't help. Over 60% of the homeless people in new york alone are under the age of 18. So therefore they cannot be arrested because they are minors.

  • Homelessness should not be criminalized.

It would be unfair to call the homeless criminals. Also, it would not be feasible to punish people who simply do not have a place to live. They cannot pay fines because they are already poor, and we don't have enough room in prisons to jail them. Efforts should be taken to alleviate poverty rather than criminalizing the homeless.

  • Homelessness is not a crime.

Criminalizing homelessness does nothing other than create even more work for our overburdened justice system. I know that poverty and homelessness scares many people, who act like it's some sort of disease they'll catch if they're anywhere near it. But it doesn't work like that, it can happen to anyone at any time. Making it a crime won't change that for anyone.
