Should illegal immigrants have an easier path to citizenship?

  • Yes they should

There's no good reason to keep spending money arresting and deporting immigrants. Furthermore, there are a lot of people serving years in federal prison for the crime of illegal immigration, which is wasting even more money. It's a big waste that accomplishes next to nothing. We've got plenty of room here, so open up!

  • Not much reason to make it harder for them to become citizens

Undocumented immigrants pay back most of what they earn, and don't really have much of a negative impact on our economy. Many would argue they're beneficial to our economy, and there's no use spending money on deporting people just because they came from a country with a lot of drug dealers. That would be like saying "64% of shooters since 1982 have been white men, so all white men should be deported!" I'm not saying everyone should be a citizen, but most undocumented immigrants are just here to make money to bring back to their families. I think it's wrong to deport someone for that.

  • YES immigrants should be given an opportunity to citizen ship.

I say yes because some immigrants want to come in to this country because of the threats they face in their country's and so they are in search for a better life. Also this country was built on immigrants because no one is originally from this country except the Native Americans.

  • Yes we should

Technically, unless you are a native American you're roots are not American. Whenever it happened , somebody in your family way back when decided to move here. Put yourself in the shoes of t Natives. Europeans just randomly busted in claiming land that already belonged to people. What gives us the right to take people's land w/out their permission and then tell people that they can't come in.

  • No, it should be harder.

Illegal immigrants should not have an easier path to citizenship. They came to the country illegally and should have to take a harder citizenship test than those who try to come live here the right way. Why should we reward those who do wrong? Most of the time these are Mexican and Cuban people who do this and where do most of the illegal drugs come from? These two places. Not only that, but these same people are often the ones who become drug dealers. Who pays when they are imprisoned for their crimes? Taxpayers have to pay. People who have resided here their entire lives end up paying the price. If they do not become drug dealers, they have a lot of children and go on welfare to collect money to feed them and their children. Again, this comes out of the taxpayers hard earned money. These are reasons I do not think it is fair to allow illegal immigrants an easier path to gain citizenship.

  • Illegal Immigrants Should Not Have an Easier Path to Citizenship

Because there an Illegal Immigrant. Also because all they do is work on a farm in the United States when they could be doing the same thing in Mexico. Also because the world would be way better without them being here. So thats why they should not have a easier path.

  • No they should not.

Illegal immigrants should not have an easier path to citizenship, they came here illegally, they should be sent back to their country, no questions asked. The people who have not come here yet and are on the waiting list however should have an easier time. They need to make the test easier, and need to make it cheaper.

  • No they shouldn't

You cannot reward those who have broken the law. That simple. This bill is an offense to American people and lawful residents. Yes, they will have to pay a fine and back taxes, but that means nothing compared to instant legalization. In other words, you are rewarding them more than you are punishing them. It's just not fair, call it whatever you want, but this is AMNESTY. Unlawful behavior must be repealed, not encouraged.

  • They are ILLEGAL immigrants

As their descriptive title suggests, illegal immigrants are BREAKING THE LAW. They are considered criminals. Just because they were able to cross the border or somehow find a physical path to the United States, it doesn't mean they can escape prosecution. They are stealing from our government, the same way a bank robber steals from a bank. They cannot be excused just because their action is done. What if we turn the other way with other criminals, just because their "action is done". They are taking away from the American dream of working hard and living the life of a law-abiding citizen. This is ridiculous that this law is even being considered.

  • No, illegal immigrants should have the same opportunities as others attempting immigration

While I think that immigration to the United States may be too difficult and complex there are no reasons we should make the process easier specifically for illegal immigrants who are already here illegally. While we may need general reform because it is impossible for many to immigrate here, reforming specifically for one group does not seem warranted.

  • Illegal Immigrants Should Not Have an Easier Path to Citizenship.

There is absolutely no reason illegal immigrants should have an easier path to citizenship. Why should someone be rewarded for sneaking into a country and living of taxpayers' money until they get their citizenship?
I understand that a lot of immigrants are coming from miserable living conditions but countries have borders for a reason. If someone decides to make citizenship easier for illegal immigrants, than they are most likely trying to expedite the process and "unclog" the lines to get in the country. However, the moment immigrants realize that all they have to do is lie and cheat and steal to get into the country quicker than going through the proper procedure, then the metaphorical floodgates will open and nothing will be solved. If you want to get into this country, you can wait.
I know not all illegal immigrants are the same, but I come from an area that is teeming with illegal aliens; most of them are living off of government cheese and, by extension, the taxes paid by people with jobs (via an outrageous percentage of their paychecks, I might add).
Don't forget about hospital visits; each ambulance ride, each admittance to an emergency room, and each treatment costs thousands upon thousands of dollars. If an ER cannot refuse treatment and an illegal alien doesn't have to pay the associated expenses, who is paying for the visit? TAXPAYERS. An increase in illegal aliens means an increase in the financial burden this country already bears. Don't make it worse by allowing aliens to have an easier path to citizenship.
