  • Junk foods are cheap, but they are also unhealthy.

Junk foods are known for making one fat. Unless you want to be fat, I would prefer you a healthy slow-food. (they might be expensive, but they are good+good for your health.)(such as kim chi) I hope that you will not eat junk food a lot. Bye bye--
    +they are greasy - ughhh--

  • Damage your brain

Junk food should be banned from school , I agree with that, Why? Because there is much reached about how damage that junk food. For what you school if your school feed you with a bad food which is can decrease your IQ, So it would be wise if you banned junk food

  • Its VERY unhealthy to your kids!!!

In my opinion i feel as junk food should be banned in the school because how do usually kids become overweight, diabetes or having obesity is because of always having junk food . Arent schools supposed to be yeaching how to be healthy i mean thats quite actually educatin of being healthy in science you know?Dont you think instead of having those greasy pizzas we should do nice healthy sandwitches or salads so we can become more healthy because we all usally kniw that when kids get home they eat junk foods might as well help them out in school so they have a bright healthy future ahead of THEM!!! :)

  • Junk food should be banned at school because some parents may not like there kids eating stuff that Is bad for them! *_*

I think this because some kids may get fat and not be able to join pe class or other sports. This is a good reason because some kids have allergies and some parents want there kids on diets and junk food might not have the minerals that the kids need!

  • Yes,junk food should be banned from schools.

Yes,junk food should be banned from schools. In order to perform at their peak, students need to have good nutrition and the only real way to do this is place close restrictions on a child's diet and offer healthy food instead of the junk food that many students crave on a regular basis.

  • Junk food should be banned from schools.

Junk food should be banned from schools. We send kids to school in hopes that they will get a good education and a nutritious lunch. If the parents want their children to have junk food then they should supply them with them at home so they can monitor how much is allowed.

  • Reiterating Health Education

As a nation, we have put too little emphasis on health. Hence, the obesity epidemic. We think we can cure this by mandating a couple of health classes in school, but that's not cutting it. We assume that "educated kids" will make the right decisions and that we shouldn't put limits on what they can choose. However, when you offer a kid a candy bar, despite his education, he will take the candy bar. Long-term health is not really on a child's radar most of the time, and they seek immediate pleasure from food rather than life-long health benefits. By offering junk food in schools, we are promoting this health negligence. The point that kids won't eat healthy foods offered to them is simply not true, kids aren't going to starve themselves because they were offered an apple instead of a Snickers. This is especially true if the child has a firm background in healthy eating.
Another reason to promote healthy eating in schools is that is makes for better minds. Kids who eat well perform better in school, and since the US is slipping so far behind in education, a change in diet may improve the situation.

  • They should be banned from primary/ elementary schools.

Many societies today believe that individuals today should be given the health to make their own decisions, even if it might be detrimental to their health. This is partly the reason why tobacco and fast food have not been banned in all nations around the world although there are irrefutable medical studies to show the damage they inflict on our health.

Whilst there is some truth in the argument, it cannot be applied to the case of children who have not developed the ability to discern right from wrong. These children might not be fully aware of the damage these junk food can do. Coupled with the extensive advertising that the manufacturers do, these young children could be misguided into consuming them. Hence, there is a need to protect them from junk food and to not let them get addicted to it (as many manufacturers put additives in their products) before they are capable of making rational decisions.

Of course, beyond primary school, this argument becomes less convincing. Perhaps the higher they go, the less restrictions should be placed on junk food. This is because they should be increasingly able to make rational decisions fro themselves. If they insist on inflicting harm upon themselves, there is nothing much we can do to stop them; ater all, tobacco and junk food are all around them

  • No, junk food should not be banned from schools.

Schools should not have the ability or the right to ban junk food from schools. People enjoy eating junk food, therefore they should be allowed to eat what they enjoy. The only person that should be allowed to decide on what they eat is the person that is buying the food themselves.

  • Junk Food Should Not Be Entirely Banned From School

Kids are so used to junk food that they might go into junk food withdrawal. However, all the junk food and soda machines should be banned from schools and a healthy selection should be served in the cafeteria most days with one junk food pizza day. Also a good vegetarian selection should be available and soda should be kept to a minimum.

  • No, students can bring their own.

No, junk food should not be banned from schools, because students should be allowed to bring whatever food to school that they want to bring. Schools probably shouldn't sell it. But they shouldn't be the food police either. If a student wants a Snickers bar in their lunch, they should be allowed to have it.

  • No because if we banned it from school that means that they will want more when they get home and they might resort to theft

If we banned candy from school they might resort to theft and then kidnappers could use candy to draw the kids towards them and against the school and against there family and then they would run away and be a orphan and they would be in misery from there mistakes

  • Junk food in schools

I support junk food in schools. Yes, everyone says it increases obesity, but instead of getting rid of the snacks, increase the physical activity. Its a good source of excercise - and fun! If you get rid of the junk foods and the foods children eat often, they wont want to eat to healthy items provided. This is why junk food should stay in schools.

  • Why schools shouldnt ban junk food!

Too many schools around the world know the struggle of being short on money and having to fight to have an existence. So selling junk food for a quick and easy way to earn a bit of pocket change is too good to be true. Right? Some people think that junk food is bad and should be banned, but schools should sell it because it raises money, is less expensive, and for some families it's their only option. People may say that the kids who buy and eat junk food in school will be less likely to focus and pay attention in class, but recent studies show that kids are only minorly affected by junk food and actually focus better with more food in their bellies. The study also concludes that kids are not getting fat from junk food sold at school but from the food that they consume at home. This just goes to show that junk food is not as bad as people think if it is just thought of as a snack but not a meal. This is why it is a great idea to sell junk food as a snack for kids so they can stay satisfied, learn and stay focused in class for a longer period of time.
While we are on the matter of saving money I would like to address the big and obvious problem that is often overlooked by schools. When you ban junk food in school, the poorer families will be forced to bring and buy more expensive food from home. If the schools really cared that much about kids being healthy and staying focused in school they would realize that they are actually making the problem worse. There is a kid at our school who I don’t think could make it through the day if he didn’t have the vending machines. Each day he has a couple quarters to buy a bag of chips to hold him off until he can get home for dinner because he doesn’t have enough money to pack or buy a lunch. Banning junk food would drop his and many other peoples grades because they won’t be able to focus and pay attention in class.
Even if schools would try to ban junk food it really wouldn’t change the amount of junk food that kids eat all that much. Kids always love a challenge, and by banning junk food, kids would be even more inclined to bring in additional junk food to school. If you really were able to ban junk food you still can’t control what kids are eating at home. In the end kids would still be eating the same amount of junk food as always with or without the schools banning it.
So in a wrap, schools would be hurting their kids grades and wasting their money and their time by banning junk food.
