  • Sure, why not?

If 12 years olds are shown as developmentally competent and able then there's no reason to bar them from doing whatever it is they are capable of. Prior to child labor laws children as young as ten were performing complex tasks which required great motor skill in factories so I'm not against if it is shown as something within the range of sensible ability.

  • No way hozay

Definitely not, 12 is the typical age to wonder explore learn...Its just stupid for them to drive at 12...Maybe 16, I dunno but I think the amount of car accidents will increase significantly if this particular law is passed on. If 12 year olds are allowed to do this then....Woahhh

  • Driving requires maturity.

There is a lot that drivers must be aware of. Pedestrians, road signs, other vehicles, and possibly even construction zones. The ability to pay attention to all these things at once while making split-second decisions is paramount when driving a vehicle. Very few twelve year olds possess the ability to do all of this. Also, twelve year olds can still be easily panicked and overwhelmed. A panicky preteen at the wheel of a two thousand pound chunk of metal is a disaster waiting to happen. Not to mention the fact that at that age, children don't realize how lethal a vehicle can be if handled improperly.
