Should large businesses increase the number of women on their corporate boards?

  • Female CEO's have smashed through the glass ceiling

The fact that we are seeing more females heading the world's largest companies is a sure sign that their time has arrived in the corporate world. CEO's like Mary Barra of GM, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo and Margaret Whitman of Hewlett Packard are already household names and have smashed through the glass ceiling

  • Not enough women representation in large businesses

While the numbers of women holding top jobs in the biggest corporations has sharply increased the last few years, it still falls way short of reaching a fair number. Not including women is missing out on a large market that many other companies now are taking advantage in today's competitive business climate.

  • Yes, large businesses should increase the number of women on their corporate boards

I believe that large businesses should have more women on their corporate boards in order to bring more diversity and also to give women what they deserve. I don`t think that women should be present in the boards if they don`t have skills, abilities and experience but if they are as good as their men co-workers than they deserve to have thier seat at the table.

  • Yes, large businesses should increase the number of women on their boards.

In America, we have fought for years to include women in our government structures. And now that our government is basically made of corporations, we should not be taking any more steps backward than we already are. Women should sit on the corporate boards of large companies to continue representation.

  • Not because they're women

People should be hired based on merit not sex. If a woman is more deserving of the job, give it to her but if a man is more qualified give it to him. A woman should not be given the "sex card" (much alike the race card) to play for the job she does not deserve.
