Should more people carpool in order to curb traffic congestion?

  • Carpooling is better for everyone

More people get where they want to without having to worry about paying for gas, seeing if they can borrow the car, or other problems they might have. Its easier if you can have more than one person to a car because if you have to drive on a more major road, such as a freeway, then you can drive in the fast lane, also known as the carpool lane.

  • Houston, we have a problem!

Well America would be as good as Europe if it didnt have all those cars in first place and incorporate a rail transit system. But yes carpool would curb traffic congestion-- if people in the workplace all lived near each other that way they could all get to work together

  • Carpooling saves money, gasoline and reduces traffic

More people should consider carpooling as it reduces cars on the roadway, less cars use less fuel and less fuel is less money for people to spend. The problem is not many places have resources for people to find rideshares, so possibly incentivizing business to promote this could have an advantage.

  • Carpooling helps the environment

If people aren't willing to rides their bikes or use other forms of public transportation carpooling would be the best option. The overcrowding on our LA freeways and cities around the country are horrible enough, we need a better solution. Carpooling reduces our carbon footprint and decongests the freeways. Many companies have carpooling programs for their employees and should be taken advantage of.

  • It would decrease the number of cars on the road

Yes, I think that more people should carpool in order to curb traffic congestion. If more people filled one car or vehicle that would be one less vehicle crowding the roads. We would all be able to reach our destinations faster. It would also help with the pollution that large amounts of cars produce on a daily basis.

  • Yes, I think more people should carpool to curb traffic congestion.

I think in some cities traffic congestion has researched horribly bad levels, I think public education campaigns to encourage carpooling would be a net benefit for everyone, the more cars we can get off the road and the more carpooling we can encourage can get everyone to their destinations faster.

  • More people should carpool in order to curb traffic congestion.

More people should carpool in order to curb traffic congestion. The more people that would carpool would mean less of a traffic condition on the road and this would also help the pollution rates to drop dramatically. There should be an incentive to get people to carpool because they would not do it any other way.
