Our society is falling apart. One of the reasons we have economic contraction is that people are waiting until they're older to marry and have children. The nuclear family was the cornerstone of Pax Americana, the period of massive economic growth and widespread prosperity following World War II, which allowed for greater numbers of Americans than ever before to educate themselves, contribute to innovation and participate in the economy. If parents force their children into marriage, it's more likely we'll be able to return to that kind of society. It's just better that way.
Parents should not be able to force their children into marriage in any civilized society. However, while we in the United States would not do such a thing, other cultures find this type of behavior to be perfectly normal. While we may not agree with it, it really is not of our business.
Parents should not be allowed to force their children into marriage. First of all, the number one reason it's done is because of money. In poor countries the family forces their girl children into marriage due to poverty. They have one less mouth to feed. This is borderline prostitution and abuse. Women should be allowed to become educated and self-reliant in order to chase their dreams.
Every one is an individual and parents do not have any right over the children that allows them to force their children into marriage. It is always fine if they provide sufficient advice on what the children should follow. However that doesnt mean that parents should be allowed to force their children into marriage
