Thiomersal is a preservative in vaccines. There was concern some years ago that this contained mercury levels above what was considered safe for children, and was possibly causing harmful effects such as autism. I would not have a problem with vaccines that contain thiomersal now because there has been extensive testing and the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a statement that they did not find any evidence of this having any harmful effects.
Yes, parents should be allowed to consent to the administration of vaccines containing thiomersal, just as they should be allowed to consent to any medical treatment that they find to be appropriate for their children. It is well-known that some research linking thiomersal-containing vaccinations to autism were falsified, and parents should be allowed to decide if the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the potential risks.
Parents should knowingly allow their children to get vaccines preserved with the mercury compound thiomersal. Although thiomersal is no longer used as a vaccine preservative in the United States and European countries, it is not proven to have any toxic effects. Vaccines must contain preservatives to act as an anti-fungal and anti-septic agent to prevent poisonous vaccines to be administered.
No they should not allow their children to get vaccinated with mercury. There is a influx of panademic outbreaks of the mumps the people getting the mumps are the ones who are vaccinated against this disease the one's who aren't vaccinated are not getting the disease at all. The vaccines are bad for our children we don't know what is going into these vaccines.
I do not think that parents should knowingly allow their children to get vaccines preserved with the mercury compound thiomersal. I think that parents should no the dangers of the compound first before they let their kids be exposed to such a thing. Every parent should be educated about such things.
