  • Yes we should keep the 2nd amendment

People should have the right to bear arms even though im only 13 i know this guns don't kill people people kill people and if they take away those rights what happens if we get attacked by ISIS ? What are we gonna bring a knife to a gun fight?

  • Yes

In the past I would of said no, however, many people are getting guns illegally and hurting one another. People have a right to protect themselves and their homes, so in this world today, I believe it is necessary for people to bear arms. It's not fair that criminals get guns and use them for criminal acts.

  • With strict limitations, yes

Gun laws need to be strengthened some. Not to absurd levels because at the end of the day people that use guns to murder others don't care what laws are and so piles of them won't stop them, but this needs to be reeled in a little bit. It'll be awfully difficult to do with gun nuts acting like the apocalypse is upon us every time somebody says "sometimes guns are used for bad things", but obtaining firearms should be difficult.

  • Yes, people should have the right to bear arms

Although it would seem to be an extreme rare case, our constitution guarantees that right, and it could still be necessary in the case of an uncontrollable dictatorial government. In addition, every person should have the right to protect themselves, their families and property against criminals and intruders. The unlawful of our country will get arms via the blackmarket. If they were aware that most people carried a weapon, there would be less crime, not more.

  • The right to bear arms is not the same issue as the right to possess weapons.

The right to bear arms is a reference to the ability to form a military armed to take action against an opponent. It is not relevant to individuals. As for gun control, people should be allowed to possess guns for purposes of hunting and self defense. The types of guns they are permitted to possess, however, should be heavily mediated.

  • The Right to Bear Arms: Should it be Maintained or Trashed?

By reading what all of you have to say, I have found some pretty good arguments, however, the right to bear arms is an amendment that should never be washed away for a couple of reasons. First of all, when the amendment was created, the main reason was to assure freedom of Americans, in case the government starts to gain too much power, similar to the British Parliament, they could revolt and bring the country back to its unified state. Also, with the ban of firearms, what will happen to the country when it needs defense and protection? The rival countries will have a vast advantage, if no American knows how to use guns. Lastly, removing the amendment will create even more criminal activity than there was before, as people who are dying to obtain a firearm will find a way to smuggle it into the country. This will also lead to profit for foreign smugglers. All in all, of course we should maintain the right to use arms.

  • Yes we should

Yes we should we have to right and i no even if i am 13 i no that people can kill using guns but guns them selves don't kill people and we should have the right to bear arms so we the people can protect our selves ! ! !

  • Yes yes yes

Uns can Save lives but are dangerous people just take advantage and think they have power However, the right to bear arms also includes a few flaws. In case the gun gets into wrong hands like children, they just do not understand how to manage it. As a result, accidents may take place. For teenager, it might be a game. But, it can kill another life in an instant. In addition, guns can be dangerous to adults. This is often observed if they are under the influence of drug or alcohol. Even responsible adults can make the mistake of using a gun when intoxicated.

Studies also claimed that armed citizens make other people nervous. Some scared citizens informed the police about suspicious individuals looking armed with a gun. As a result, police officer can’t easily recognize to distinguish normal responsible citizens from criminals with firearms. • I strongly disagree

In the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects the rights of individuals to keep and bear arms. In 2010 alone guns took the lives of 31,076 Americans in homicides, suicide and unintentional shooting. This is almost 85 deaths per day, maybe even 3 per hour or less. Over 1,300 victims of unintentional shootings for the period of 2005-2010 were under the age 25. 8% of shootings That resulted in death were from shot fired by children, teens, even some the age of six. I strongly disagree people shouldn’t have the right to bear arm.

  • If there wasn't the right to bear arms then would there have been all those massacres

There is a massive problem at the moment, people claim that they need guns to protect themselves from other people (who have guns). If there wasn't such a thriving legal guns trade then there wouldn't be a problem, if a gun owner falls on hard times they could sell their guns illegally for massive amounts of money to gangs. The problem stems from the original right to bear arms, if there was incredibly limited access to guns then there wouldn't be these problems, look at England for example or France or Germany, look how few gun massacres there are compared to the US. Do people in these countries have such as opportunity's to get guns?

  • No, not handguns

Handguns should be outlawed in the USA. Not even manufactured in the USA. The only purpose of a hand gun is to kill another person. Handguns are not used for hunting. If handguns were harder to obtain, violent crime would be less. Just 2 weeks ago, a guy about 150 feet from my apartment started shooting a handgun in the air for fun. This would not happen if handguns were outlawed.

  • I don't think so..................

Do you still need an armed militia? Are the British coming? There is no sane argument for ordinary citizens to own any sort of firearm, not even in Alaska (which should be part of Canada) where you might be attacked by a bear. Use a bow and arrow or a knife like the natives used to do not so long ago. It is an outdated amendment which has no relevance in a modern civilised society, whenever that happens.

  • Stop violence with violence?

A gun is made to kill. There is no more to it. So why should civilians be given objects made to kill? Thousands die every year, and still people support this? The people who support the right to bear arms also, in parallel, support gun violence / killings and so on.

Since the belief of one person to another is not common, you have to understand why some people desire to carry weapons while others do not. Whether you are in favor of carrying weapons or not, you should know its implications to your society. To protect citizens, government officials often prohibit carrying illegal weapons.
