Should people on benefits get away with doing cash-in-hand jobs?

  • Yes they should be allowed to.

People who are already receiving benefits are apparently have a hard enough time making ends meet, so if they are not receiving huge large amounts equal to those who already make money at a normal job, then i do not see why they should be punished and have their benefits taking away.

  • Yes, to a point.

We cannot absolutely penalize people on welfare benefits for trying to climb out of their poverty by abruptly cutting them off or slashing their benefits. Yet, this is what happens if someone is honest and reports their income on the required forms. And sometimes, doing a little extra work for cash is something that should be ignored in the hopes that it might lead to a full time job for them. Welfare is supposed to help, not hurt.
