  • The wrong people are having the most children

Here in the UK, the average amount of kids per family is pretty low, well below, two. The unfortunate and annoying thing is that the average would actually be quite a bit lower if it wasn't for certain kinds of pople having huge families. People from bad backgrounds often have more kids than the rest of us. People of foreign backgrounds (mostly Muslims and African-originated people) are having huge families and don't seem to care about how this is affecting other people and the world in general.

Something need to be done to limit these people from having so many kids, as they are putting a huge strain on schools, housing, jails and resources in general. Immigrants should be told before they come here that they can't have more than two children (and if they do they can no longer stay here). Drug addicts, certain kinds of criminals, useless parents who have already had too many children, and people who have multiple kids to get benefits should be sterilized to avoid any future children suffering at their hands.

Hard decisions need to be made, but political correctness is stopping us and, ultimately, political correctness will destroy Britain and most of the western world.

  • We're overstretched already

As it stands already there are too many people. There are not enough jobs, health system struggling to cope and people with kids can't get places in local schools. If we continue to grow in numbers this will get worse with food & other resources running out and raising conflicts

  • It's best not to.

We no longer live in harmony with the Earth. Our resources are limited, and every day we continue to grow. The very reason people have problems with one another is scarcity, and since everyone takes a piece of the pie, one day there will be none left, which will lead to war and inevitably an unpleasant death for many. By simply abstaining from reproducing, we can end that cycle. People dont think about the long term consequences. Sure, you may only have one child, but then they may have two. And one of their children could have four, and so on, and so on, until you and your parter could single handidly be responsible for thousands of births. Moreover, it is simply not feasible to have children in developed nations anymore. We do not require the extra help on the farm we once did, and due to modern medicine, we live longer. Theres also the issue of bad genetics being passed on, but unfortunately it seems the people with the worst traits breed the most. And most importantly, not having a child is an act of mercy. With your knowledge of where the world's going today, would this be a time you wanted to grow up in? People will never stop having kids; its unfortunate, but reality, and it will continue to lead us down a path of problems.

We must educate people, provide adequate birth control, and end religious and social stigmas that condemn birth control. We need to teach men and women about their options, consent and respect for their own and their partners bodies. It wont solve everything, but it's the best shot we've got.

  • There's already too many people, too many orphans, and resources are shrinking by the year

With the way that we're going, there's going to be around 10 billion people on this planet by 2050. Already, we're seeing problems like a shrinking job-market where an overpopulated country is fighting each other for a simple entry level job. This is a microscopic example. Imagine a world were there's only one paying job per 1000 people. Imagine the ripple effect of that: not being able to purchase goods (which are going to be scarce anyway since too many people consume too much), not being able to pay for land to live in.... Unless there's a bloody anarchic revolution, there's going to be too many people with nothing to do or contribute.
Think of it this way: if you create something, especially a child, then you're responsible for it. Do you want your future kids to live in a world where food is a luxury and so is housing and employment no matter what they do? Do you want them to grow up knowing hunger as the norm because we've reached the end of our resources?
If the answer's no, then I'm sorry, but as a generation we're going to have to skip out on birthing more humans. For those who want to raise children, I can assure you that there's a heartbreaking amount of babies in orphanages who would more than love to be adopted and raised in a loving home. Let's try to improve the quality of the lives we already have instead of bringing more lives in to the world.

  • Those with unhealthy bloodlines should abstain from having children.

I'm not concerned with there being a population problem. Of course human populations are going to get out of control, there's nothing to stop us from thriving in the current state of the world. I'm worried that when something does come along to seriously threaten the global population, be it a pandemic or a severe lack of resources or some other disastrous scenario, there will be far too many humans lacking the necessary strength and gumption to survive. So, in the interest of NOT taking extreme measures to secure our race's future survival, any and all humans with distinctly unhealthy traits (susceptibility to cancer and other diseases, cases of deformities across any and all developmental stages) and undesirable behaviors (sedentary lifestyles, asocial tendencies, mental illness) appearing either in themselves or their family lines should responsibly abstain from procreating. We can't stop things from eventually crumbling to shit, but I'm certain that this is a safe option for ensuring that future generations have a better chance at handling whatever may come their way. Although, whether the humans of today have the sense to commit to such a method seems unlikely at best.

  • Just because you were born in the right country doesn't mean you should keep all the rewards to your genetic line.

Seriously! Over population is already a huge problem in many parts of the world. And if you have the good fortune of being able to afford food on a daily basis I think that it would be a selfish decision to create life when so much is already suffering. Adoption is great because your spreading your resources around, not increasing demand.

  • Overpopulation will be the death of us all.

Don't be selfish. Having kids is. I myself don't want to have my own kids because i would have to be pregnant and birth the child. Sooo many people already exist and just because of your impulsive instinct to breed and have kids. All countries should have a law where you can only have two kids and if one dies and you don't have another one, you can reproduce again.

  • No good reason

When asked why people should stop having so many children, the reasons are many. But ask someone why they are having kids. They are offended that they even need to justify it, but for the vast majority, they have no sufficient answer to give other than, "because I want to". We live on a planet with finite resources. We can not longer lack a justification for producing the source of the most wasteful, destructive, selfish force on the planet: ourselves.

  • Due to over population.

Their are supposed to be 10 billion people living on earth when the year 2050 rolls along, but the fact of the matter is ,we do not have enough room or resources to support such a massive incremental boost in the human population, especially will people living much longer than ever before.

  • The enemies would love that this country not have more children

That would be great for the terrorist that we stop having chikdren. They would probably increase production if we did stop. The children are the future it is where we become unselfish and it brings out the best in us. Look at how much control is placed on society by children being present. TV would be one promo after another with no children around. Ultimately all the caring is because of the children. We would become of little value to anyone if it were not for children who are truly pure and innocent

  • As a matter of personal choice, no.

People should have all the children they want to have, provided that they can support these children. You can argue that increasing human population is having negative impact on the world, but not having children isn't the solution to this problem. If people want children, they should be able to have them.

  • The wrong people would keep having children.

Although I think with the billions of people we have on this planet, a reduction in population is needed. But the problem there is that the population is not evenly distributed. Only first world nations would go along with a population reduction scheme. The third worlders would continue to breed, and not contribute to the betterment of society.

  • No, people should continue to have children.

The global population growth rate is slowing and the trend is reversing. Children are not a problem for the planet, or for us in general. There is no compelling reason why people, broadly speaking, should stop having children. The question itself is so vague and bizarre that it defies a coherent answer.

  • stop having children

I personally disagree,I believe that There is no set age that women should stop having children. After the age of 35, women are at a higher risk for complications with pregnancy. Doctors will discourage pregnancy after 40 however there are many women who deliver healthy babies well into their forties.

  • No They Shouldn't

While I believe it is normal to question bringing more children into the world I don't think it's a definitive reason for people to stop having children. I believe children are one of the main purposes of life and being a parent I can't imagine life without my child. I certainly wouldn't want to be this far in life without the responsibility of passing the world on to the next generation. Life without children would be unbearable to me.
