Should Pope Francis get advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI?

  • Because of the clear wisdom of the pope emeritus

He is a man who has told us that his mission is to support the holy father in prayer. He cam be relied upon to give sound advice particularly on controversial matters and will not be swayed by popular opinion. It is particularly crucial to seek this advice at the te of the upcoming synod

  • Some Advice Good

Pope Francis should get some advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, but not too much. Pope Francis has already made quite a stir in Rome with less than a year in office. He is clearly more hands on than Benedict XVI, a man who was much older when he was elected. The cardinal who became Pope Francis came in second to Benedict XVI to succeed John Paul II a few months after his death. Imagine what Francis could have done had he been elected sooner and much younger.

  • They should learn from each other.

Yes, Pope Francis should get advice from Pop Emeritus Benedict XVI, because he would have some insight that would be helpful towards assuming the office. In the biggest job in the world, Francis would be wise to spend some time with the person who has done the job before and get his feedback. Someone with a direct line to God would have some important things to say.

  • Pope Francis should get advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

Pope Francis should get advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. It is natural for the current pope to get advice from his advisers, including the former pope. Although the office of pope emeritus is historically unusual, there is no reason that Benedict cannot still have an active role in the affirs of the church.

  • Yes he should.

Pope Francis should get some advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. There is no reason why Pope Francis should not limit the amount of information he can get to make a good decision. This makes it a very smart choice to get advice from many different people, include the previous pope.

  • Pope Francis Should Lead His Own Way

I do not believe Pope Francis should seek advice from Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Under normal circumstances Popes would not have the ability to ask their predecessor questions and I believe it is best for Pope Francis to guide the church in the best direction he sees fit. Benedict gave up the position because of his age and health, he shouldn't remain in the circle.
