Should publicizing criminal news be banned?

Asked by: HKR_ajb
  • Publishing criminal news doesn't resolve anything

We know that criminal news are published after the crime happened. And we should remember that the idea of publicizing here, means that everyone, every kind of society (good and bad morality) could see and may catch the bad message come from the news. Perhaps many kind of society would like to imitate the ways of conducting crime. So, the thing that gov need to do is not publicizing the news, but gov should focuses more on resolving the source of the news (crime) itself. And society didn't need to feel neglected because they still can following the development of the criminal news on their country through socialization conducted by gov in corporation with prevailing parties of the country. That's why, we do believe that it is the most justifiable way.

  • Criminals in Custody should not be publicized, But criminals on the loose should.

The press must have freedom, But as Americans we have freedom to reject certain reporting and reporting styles. I believe that if a network refrained from speaking the names of criminals in custody and not releasing photos and made known their reasons for doing so, They would fill at least a niche market for reporters who will not honor criminals with the attention they may have been seeking. I believe national reporting of names is unnecessary in most circumstances, But that local reporting is certainly understandable. I believe that mass shooters, For example, If in custody, Should not be publicized by name or face in order to respect the victims of his or her horrible crime and their names and faces which are often not publicized. The criminal's name is not important. It should be buried somewhere deep in dark history. The crime should be reported on very negatively, But putting the criminals face all over the place and talking about how this person felt left out of society before committing the crime and so on and so forth only provides more reasons to commit such a crime. A kid feels lonely and wants love, So he commits a crime in order to receive attention and even compassion from people who think that his crime was nothing but a product of environment, Rather than an act of evil for which he should be punished with death. The lives lost should be remembered and reported on more than the criminal who took them away.

  • Freedom of the press

Publicizing of criminal news should not be banned, but it does need to be reported on responsibly. The press should feel free to report on what they need, but they do need to know that when it comes to criminal news, there are often copy cats who will use details to create similar crimes.
