After what he did in regards to the nomination for director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Rand Paul should be considered the new leader of the GOP. He did something that no one else in the GOP will do, and that is to stand up and fight for what he believes in.
Rand Paul is a draconian conservative posing as a libertarian, much like his father. Rand Paul stands against healthcare for all, the reproductive rights of women, the separation of church and state, social security, medicare, unemployment benefits, welfare and raising the minimum wage with inflation. The man gives not a thought to problems hurting the United States and instead focuses on a theoretical drone strike on American citizens that will never happen.
Are you kidding me? Unless the GOP wants a clown for its new leader (which honestly wouldn't be much a stretch for them anyway,) they should absolutely not put this man out front. Rand Paul is a cooky, backwards politician who doesn't know which way is up or down. If the GOP wants to be taken seriously, it needs to find someone better as its new leader.
A leader of the Republican Party should have been around for a lot longer than Rand Paul. Also, a leader needs to be able to negotiate and not issue ultimatums. Being a firebrand may help Paul get media attention, but it is not a quality that leads to good governance.
