The integration into today's mainstream society is very important. Being different than the rest of the world is fine, but to not have many of the things that today's society offers is not. It will only serve to limit the people of Romania. And this is by no means okay for today's standards.
I feel the Romanian politicians should openly support the integration of Roma people into mainstream society. If the Roma people want to integrate they need support to do so. Their lifestyle is vastly different from societal norms. Romanian politicians should be open to do what they can, in every aspect.
Any country that is willing to treat a group of people as a lesser class based on race creed or color is dangerously close to turning the corner and conducting genocide. By making the distinciton of Roma's within the confines of the Romanian nation, and treating them differently, the eventual result is public disdain, then segregation, and then genocide.
I think that Romanian politicians should openly support the integration of Roma people into mainstream society. I think that such a thing would not only help to encourage the people of Roma to integrating to society, it will also help prevent discrimination from the people in those societies and nations.
Romanian politicians should not only support the integration of Roma people into society but all people. If they only welcomes the Roma population the country would not be able to grow its economy the way it needs to. This could endanger the future growth of the country and make it hard to recover.
