  • Privacy or Life?

I get it, its your privacy but wouldn´t you rather save lifes then keeping your social media privet? Anyway if you didn´t do anything bad why are you worring? Thats why schools should monitor student social media. The reasons are cyber bulling is dangerous and safety comes first.
The first reason is cyber bulling is dangerous. On the website it says, " Around 100,000 people die, commit suicide or get obducted because of media activity." This supports my claim because schools can help the ones who are being bullied.

The second reason is safety comes first. On the website it saids," The piont to recent shootings which the teenage gunman involved had posted threats on social media shortly before they took violent acts." This supports my claim because schools can be warned when something violent is going to happen.

Some people might say schools shouldn´t monitor social media but is privacy really more important then saving people lives? This is why schools should monitor students social medias.

  • Social Media: You do know it was never private, right?

Do you use social media? Are you still in school? If so, what do you think about schools monitoring students social media? I think they should. Two reasons why are that kids have been killed in schools by other students. The attack was discussed and threatened on social media. The second reason is that some schools have started monitoring social media and have already arrested a kid for coming to school with a revolver in his backpack.
The first reason why schools should monitor social media is in schools kids have been killed when their fellow students went to school with guns. The evidence is the today show people talked about 4 kids being killed by other students when they attacked the school. Further investigation told the police that the attacks had been discussed on social media. This supports my claim because it shows that people died when it could have been easily prevented.
The second reason is a kid was arrested for going to school with a revolver in his backpack. The evidence is the today show mentioned that he had talked about on social media so when he came to school the police were waiting for him. This supports my claim because it shows that the system works and is reliable. For all we know, that kid could have injured or killed kids.
Some people might say that schools should not monitor students social media but is "privacy" really that important when you or others could die from something that didn't need to happen? You also might say that you don't want a teacher on social media. But it won't be a real person! A computer program will be used to shift through social media posts. It will alert a real person if it finds a violent word like gun, kill, etc. I hope you can understand that this is important and needs to happen to keep students safe. It's not just about you, it's about saving other students live across the country. Resouces: today.Com

Yes because people should media. When you poston social media everyone can see. Once they tape in social media it shows. Schools can make sure kids aren't in trouble. Schools say the program goal is to prevent schools. This supports my claim because: every one need to see what you post and see if you good. This support my claim because: social media help people a lot to see if you good person or bad person. Yes some people might schools shouldn't monitor social media how ever. Is privacy really more important knowing some one. Online community. Bridgette

  • Teachers should monitor

"At the end of the day, the goals are simple: safety and security" (Jodi rell.) schools should monitor student social media. The reasons are to pervent school and keep kids safe,
The first reason is pervent school shooting "A steveson high school student was arrested friday morning after taking an unloaded gun to school, officals said." If schools monitor we can stop these things

  • Teachers Should Monitor

Don't you want to be safe? Schools should monitor students social media. My reasons are students can get hurt or killed , it will prevent from shootings to happen, and monitoring students will help crime investgation. Those reasons I got from debate.Org. The evidence
I have is that about 100,000 kids get killed because of social media. So yes teachers should monitor students.

  • Teachers should monitor

What is more important saftey or privacy? Schools should monitor social media. The reasons are provent school shooting and to keep kids safe.

My first reason is saftey comes first. On the website it says "100,000 people killed themselves because of cyberbulling" This supports my claim because people died cause of cyberbulling

  • Honestly It Doesn't Matter.

There is no point if you have nothing to hide.... But if you do have something to hide you are screwed.... Its your fault for doing those things in the first place. If you are scared then you shouldn't do it at all. That is your problem... Have fun with whatever you are doing...

  • The School Has no Official Business There. Period.

Kid's social media activities have little or nothing to do with a schools. When schools have to pay 40000 dollars to make a student make her social accounts private, something is wrong with that idea. There is a reason a private account is private. Why turn the entire account public when you could just allow the certain staff access to the posts. The whole account becoming public could just enrage students and cause them to rebel. Which just leads to more problems. The whole idea is a catastophy waiting to occur.

  • It's Not The School's Buisness.

Point blank period, it is not the schools buisness. Honestly imagine if you were in highschool, witha boyfriend or girlfriend, your parents know, why does the school need to know? What if they are thimgs that the school doesnt need to see, like "i love you" or anything else? Its different if they use the social media in school, because it is the school's property. And even though cyber bullying is a big cause of suicide, schools can check the victims social media THEN, not when nothing is wrong and you just want to post something inapropriately funny on Instagram or Facebook.

  • No teachers should not view our social medias

No teachers should not monitor our social medias. The first reason is that students can post false accusations about things that can happen in school and teachers already control us at school and this is our lives not theirs. Reason 2 is that teachers might snoop to other things like our personal chat with our friends.
According to debate.Org teacher already have controll of us and they would have even more controll of us if they know what we are talking about even if students do get bullied they would have told if they did not start things up even if they wanted to tell some one.
So no teachers should not monitor our social medias even if school shootings can happen but they might be fake.

  • Teachers: watching or participating?

You post something, and someone is watching… or participating? Is “someone” even a teacher? My claim is that teachers should not be able to watch over social media. My two reasons are cyber criminals, and the teachers.
My first reason is teachers. Some of them are not perfect. In fact, a few have been arrested for shootings. And you might not know what the teacher actually does for a living besides teaching… do you?
My Evidence Is a man known as the “teacher”in the drug world. Of course, he sold drugs and cocaine. But one day, he needed more money so he kidnapped a kid, and was possibly bringing him to a drug deal.
Now if a teacher was actually that desperate… there might be more. This social media might show a drug sell, and well...You get the idea. Boys and girls, they might need, or drugs. Maybe both.
My second reason is cyber criminals. We all know there are some people out there. One man, (the most infamous criminal that posed as a teacher) is called. Andrei cantivilo. Also known as the Russian ripper. He was convicted of 52 murders. Now, he was a teacher but switched to a cyber “teacher.” later, he confessed to 56 murders. I wonder where he got the extra 4 from.
    Hmm...
Think. If a man was able to do that with the internet, what will happen when teachers monitor party posts and such.
Of course students die of suicide but we really don't need any more deaths, do we?
    -Alex P.V.B.

  • Teachers should'nt monitor us!

Don't you ever wonder if someone is watching you on the internet? Schools should'nt monitor us on the internet! Two reasons are if teachers can monitor our social media hackers can too, also what if teachers post threats instead of students, police wont think that teachers would post threats. What do you think?
