  • Yes they should

Yes schools should do something if their is name calling and threating something should be done about it. Students are trapped at schools and now on their phones. When they tell a principal or teacher they should do more than simple tell the bully to leave them alone its not fair to the student being bullied. If you tell a bully to leave someone alone do you really think they would listen so nothing changes for the student they're in the same situation they were in before I've had this happen to me for 6 hours straight and they did nothing about it!!!!!!

  • Cyber bullying should be punished just as severely as face-to-face bullying.

Whether it is in a virtual capacity or face-to-face, bullying is one of the biggest problems children face today and should be dealt with severely by schools as well as parents. In some ways, cyber bullying has the potential have an even more severe and lasting impact than face-to-face bullying because it continues to live on in cyberspace long after the incident itself ends. So there is virtually no way for children to ever fully put it behind them.

  • Schools Should Punish Cyber Bullying

Yes, schools should punish cyber bullying. A school is responsible for ensuring a healthy learning environment, and bullying of any sort impedes on this process. The bullying being online makes it no less hurtful and distracting, so I can see no reason why a school should not punish cyber bullying.

  • Yes, schools should most definitely punish cyber bullying.

Cyber bullying is just as serious, if not, more serious, than physical bullying. Some of you are saying that it shouldn't happen because "you can get away from it with a click of a button." But, as a victim of cyber bullying, I can say that it's close to impossible to not look at what people are saying about you. I really don't know why, it's just difficult. Victims of bullying are 2-9 times more likely to consider suicide. At least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying. If a child ended their life because you bullied them over the internet, that death would be on your hands. You indirectly killed them. Any and every type of bullying lowers self-esteem in humans in every way possible. 160,000 kids stay home from school everyday because of a fear of being bullied. They'd rather stay home than go get an education because of how brutal kids can be.

  • Are we just gonna let kids die off because of this?

Young adults, teens if i may call them, are constantly bullied online because of the dumbest stuff. People should really punish the bullies because they cause these innocent teens to want to harm themselves. They won't feel safe at school if they have to confront the bully everyday of the week. Schools should definitely punish these cruel individuals.

  • Yes they should

Of course schools should punish them. It is taught in most schools not to cyber bully but most people don't listen. They go ahead and do what they want .This sholud be stopped and schools should punish their students. So in my opinion schools should punish the bullies cyber bullying.

  • They are responsible for the care of their students

Schools should be able to punish their student for disorderly conduct on the internet and any social media site. If there are students being hurt online for legit reasons because of actual mean things said by bullies, the school should be able to step in. THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS AND THE GOVERNMENT ALREADY STICKS THEIR HEAD INTO EVERYONE ELSE'S BUSINESS WHY WOULD THEY STOP NOW?

  • School is a place where manner and athicates are being thought to ous.

School is totally responsible for students mental development which in turn also include the manner, the respect for other living creature in these world. And so for the same reason it is advisable that if any student at initial stage itself is found to be at bulling than he must be thought a lesson of well behaving with other's.

  • Cyberbullying affects learning

Schools should defiantly get involved in cyberbullying because it affects the students abilities to learn if they try to avoid school or being harassed at school. It can ultimately cause a student to fail, dropout, or even commit suicide if action is not taken against it. Parents don't always punish their children. The school should step up and take action!

  • Kids bring it with them to school.

Kids commit bullying about kids from school and usually bring it to school. The kids could be bullied at school too if the stuff was shared with other people. The kids are at school and suffering from being cyber bullied at school. Then they get bullied at both places and then what?

  • NOPE. Leave it to law enforcement

Law enforcement should investigate these cases and eventually punish the bullies because there are laws against cyberbullying. Cyberbullying isn't going to be cured with a detention. And how is the school going to give a detention to an anonymous user? If the school did investigate on social media, it would be a violation of privacy. And think of the time and money spent investigating this one case that could be spent on supplies and on benefiting the whole school.

  • They are other options

With two clicks of a mouse you can get away from it all. Why is it so hard for someone to just log off/block the bully? Cyber bullying gives the victim a chance to actually escape the torment. I understand that it is emotionally taxing to read hurtful comments, but you don't actually have to read them or acknowledge they're there. Once the bullies blocked or you logged off, you're free. Schools shouldn't be involved because it isn't right to look at student social media or punish a kid from another school. The only way school should get involved is in letting the victim see a counselor.

  • Schools should not punish cyber bullies

Schools should not have the license to punish cyberbullies. One reason they should not have the authority to punish them is if it doesn't happen in school. In addition , the school has nothing to do with it , and doesnt happen in school grounds . There for , you shouldn't turn to the school because they don't know whats happening .

  • It should be punished by the school

No, schools should not punish the cyber bully because the the victim could always just log of the site or confront the bully. The victim chooses to listen to what the bully has to say, if they just blocked them from the site or their news feed then they would not have to worry about it.

  • It is none of the schools responsibility

It is none of the school's business to go and see student's private information, and the school may not even know the student who is being bullied. The student will soon enough develop skills online to defend themselves, which is good. End of discussion . I hope that schools will eventually realize that looking in student's social media account is wrong.

  • It is a private matter

I believe that cyber bullying off campus has nothing to do with the school. As I said before it is a private matter that should be dealt with parents and sometimes if serious, the law enforcement. Not by the school. I mean if the victim wanted the school to be involved then that person may. But the government can do the job better I think

  • It shouldent because the person that owns the website should do something not the school

I think the the cyber bullying shoulde not be a burden the school.More the the website if the person that is on the site being bullied should just avoid their comments its not like they will ever do something in reallife they are just scared that someone will find out so they have to hide behind the computer.

  • They should not

Schools should not have the license to punish cyberbullies. One reason they can't punish them is that not all cyberbullying happens on campus. The cyberbully might attend another school. A final reason is a school cant' suspend someone who doesn't attend there. Therefore, schools shouldn't be able to punish them.

I am confident that they will discuss it at school and will remind about the circumstances. But, we shouldn’t forget that it is also our, parents’ duty to explain all this to our children at home. Moreover, now we have so many vivid examples, videos and interviews. It is extremely important to control how our ids use the internet if they just chat with friends or apply to sites like this http://britishessaywriter.co.uk/ to cope with school assignment or commit a crime. Actually there are quite many thins that threaten immature minds and only we can protect them.
