Should scientists learn about how older scientists thought?

    If scientists did not build on previous scientists work we would never move forward. That's like saying should parents teach their kids english in the U.S.? Science is all about building on what you already know. Say science is a house, if your trying to build the house you need to build on whats already there.

    If scientists examine not just what older scientists discovered but also how they thought by examining the person's life story, the context of the times, even differences in what words meant and how the person used words, and the person's aptitudes and disabilities(using the term relatively we all are disabled). Understanding that may help today's scientists notice mistakes that older scientists made and lead to new discoveries.

Understanding the perspective of past scientist can give scientists insight into aspects of science they may not have ever thought to be significant.     When I was going to school to become an engineer, we always learned about scientists that lived in the past. I think this was important because you learn where science has come from and also you learn that most scientific discoveries are by accident. It is good to know the general process of science.
