Should society assume more responsibility for pregnant teenagers and the children they bear?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No. In fact the teenager should take on more responsibility.

Not at all. In fact once a teenager has a child then the parents of the teenagers should have the right to stop supporting them. For example, the parents can charge the teenager for child care, room and board etc. They need to be shown the seriousness and consequences of their action.

  • Society should not assume more responsibility for pregnant teenagers and the children they bear.

If someone gets pregnant when they are a teenager, they should take responsibility for their own actions. It is the fault of the woman who got pregnant, the man who got her pregnant, and the parents who raised these two people. The rest of society should not have to pay for their personal mistakes.

  • No, pregnancies and children are the responsisbility of the individual

If a teenager is old enough to engage in sexual intercourse, they are old enough to support the child that results. It is the responsibility of the individual to care for their child and accept the consequences of their actions. It should not be for other people to make up the slack when a teen cannot provide for their child.
