Should Source Code for Electronic Voting Machines Be Publicly Available?

  • Yes, they should be open to the public.

I think that having the source code open to the public on voting machines would allow people to better understand how it works, and relieve suspicions around voting fraud. Having the orders that are programmed into the voting machines open to the public would give people the peace of mind in knowing that their votes are being recorded accurately.

  • No it shouldnt

Source codes for electronic voting machines should not be publicly available for everyone to see because elections could possibly be rigged in the future if everyone knew the source code for the voting machines. Its not a wise decision and it is unnecessary to be made public in the first place.
