    idea. Keeping sports contracts private
    would save sports teams money by decreasing salaries. If athletes didn’t know their peer’s
    salaries, they couldn’t use salary comparison as a tactic during contract
    renegotiation. Also, keeping sports
    contracts private would reduce jealousy and negative emotions towards athletes.

    I wouldn't want my fellow workers or anyone else to know how much I made. It only leads to jealousy and discontent from others. What athletes make is really none of our business. The owners don't want everyone to know the exorbitant amount they make off their teams. The players would probably ask for even more if they did know.
