  • Yes it should because....

They need to fucking exercise with their fat asses and do something with their lives instead of walking around in size 100 sweats because they couldn't fit a 100 size pair of jeans and do nothing but eat 20 big macs in 20 seconds. JUST DO IT!!!!! DON'T BE A FAR ASS LIKE RONALD MCDONALD FLIPPING BURGERS FOR 5 DOLLARS AN HOUR!!! YOU BUM SCUM!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, of course.

Schools need to be more strict about the amount of physical exercise that the students are getting. The school lunch program is already abysmal, so students should at least have one period of exercise. It's clear that obesity is a problem among adults, it shouldn't be a problem among students.

  • Yes they should be mandatory

Kids need exercise. Obesity is becoming an issue. Children are also doing nothing and becoming lazy. Also, they need to be more involved. They need to represent their school with pride. Also, it could improve your social skills, like working together and talking and figuring things out with your team. This is why school sports SHOULD be mandatory.

  • Sports help with school

More than 30% of kids are overweight, the future for American teens doesn't look to bright. The key is sports. Student-athletes often have greater academic success than non-athletes due to their exposure to a structured environment. Many kids struggle with stresses of school, which greatly hinders their success in the classroom. Sports help students cope with these issues because they teach them how to perform well under pressure, allowing them to relax in the class and on tests, and ultimately operate more efficiently. School sports involve strict practice schedules that teach kids the importance of focus and responsibility in reaching their goal. These attributes carry directly into the classroom, as students possess the responsiblity to do their homework and the focus to study

  • Not every student is an athlete.

I approve of physical education class being mandatory in high school, but a student should not be forced to play sports. It is really up to them or the parents regarding that decision. Not ever student has the gift of being a great athlete, and they should maintain the right to pursue their own talents.

  • They should not be able to join

What about the obese children that do not have the physical ability to run or move around quickly enough to keep up with the other kids. What about the non hand eye coordinated kids that cant swing, shoot or hit. The more we say that the obese and non coordinated kids can do sports then when they try in highschool they are going to be shut down and there self confidence will be crushed.

  • Sports in school should not be mandatory.

Sports in school should not be mandatory because some students are not athletes. Myself, I am not an athlete. I do not enjoy sports. I am in many other clubs, like FFA and NJHS. With my busy schedule I do not have time for sports. Another reason that sports should not be mandatory is kids should be worried about their academics that will take them farther in life than any sport will. We are always being encouraged to focus more on school than sports and making sports mandatory will take our focus off school.

  • I need to have a fun sport that my school doesn't have

Tennis and badminton are my favorite sports, but they are not offered by my school. Some people love swimming, and we can only do swimming in my school for three weeks out of the year in gym. People can't be restricted to people they know, they have to reach out of their comfort zone to have a better athletic life.

  • Heath and money problems

Students that have health issues will feel out of place if they require everyone to play a sport and they can not participate in it. Some family's struggle with money and have to have financial aid to help them they will not be able to have more than one person in the family doing a sport if they can barley pay their bills. Bills and having some where to lay your head at night and having food is more important than having a child in a sport.

  • Not every kid is an athlete and schools shouldn't force them to be.

Not everyone is good at sports and some people don't like them. So schools shouldn't force those people how don't like sports to play. The other side of the argument kood argue that everyone needs exercise and yes I agree with that like pe but not a sport because not everyone is in to them.

  • No one should be forced to do something their not comfortable.

Them teachers cant even do half of those sports. So stfu. Plz and thank you. Your forcing us to do something that were not comfoprtable with. You should try and do that. Also we have to juggle with school and hw and everything thats happening in our personal life. Bye.

  • Making sports mandatory would hurt a student's self esteem

We all know that feeling, when your peers laugh at you for being the awkward one, and students not previously exposed to sports would be made fun of in many situations if sports are made mandatory in high school. And to be obesed or not obesed is the students choice and we should not be interfering with their choices. And some students just cant fit a sport in with their courseload.

  • Everyone has a choice

We all have a choice when choosing if we do sports or not. Most kids can't do sports or have medical problems that would prevent them doing any sport at all. Free Will is also important because we have the right to make our own decisions in life instead of following there idea of us.
