State and local governments need to act on the federal immigration laws put in place. There are state and local governments that may overlook certain federal laws because they benefit their states. This is not acceptable and needs to stop. In order to solve the immigration problems this country is having we need all forms of government to work together.
Federal law is enforceable only on a national level. State or local governments who want to uphold federal immigration laws should do so by contacting national authorities and then allowing them to the jobs for which tax money has been set aside for them to do. For state or local governments to take it upon themselves to enforce federal laws is unconstitutional.
