• Yes, King writes in multiple genres

While Steven King is best known for his works of horror, he has actually been quite prolific in multiple other genres. He has written science fiction, supernatural fiction, realism and fantasy. His Dark Tower series, for example, was a monumental work of fantasy involving an entire universe that is not based on horror. He has also written many realistic short stories, some of which have been the basis for classic movies, like The Shawshank Redemption. Overall, King's work crosses many genre boundaries. Even though some of his best-known works include horror, he his much more than "just a horror writer."

  • Steven King more than a horror writer

Steven King should be thought of as more than a horror writer. He has written many other types of genres, and his works include Shawshank Redemption. He has published 54 novels, including under the pen name Richard Bachman, and 200 short stories. King has also collaborated with musicians, including the Ramones.

  • King: Brilliant Writer

Stephen King is one of the most prolific and talented writers of our time. His skill set reaches far beyond the bounds of horror fiction. He has written extensively other genres throughout the years, and has, again and again been met with great success. Works such as Apt Pupil, the Shawshank Redemption and the Dark Tower Series highlight his versatility and astounding abilities as a writer.

  • Yes he should be

I would think that Stephen King can be regarded as more than just a horror writer. I think that with him and JJ Abrams pairing up for this latest JFK story proves just that. I'm sure that we will see more movies and TV series like this from King in the future.
