Should students be able to bring personally-owned electronic devices to school?

  • Yes! Let them!

CMON! 6 TO 7 HOURS OF SCHOOL IS BORING! Cmon! Cell phones are useful because they can call their family member in case of emergencies. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP B E E P B E E P B E E P B E E P BE E P! THE END

  • Yes they should

Yes, all students should be able to communicate with family members in case of an emergency, no matter how small the chance. A text could be the ticket to your survival. You should not have to take the risk, no matter what the cost, how little the chance. Technology is a must.

  • Ads and games, a distraction.

While playing on an electronic an advertisement can pop up anytime. It might tell children to play this game. Or it is an email from a stranger telling the child to share private info. Also, games and songs are a distraction. A student would not pay attention to what the teacher is saying to the class which could cause a problem when doing his/her homework.

  • We need them.

Children in schools need to be able to use there own device. If we don't there aren't enough that the school can supply. If every child brings there own then the school can use the money saved to buy other important things that the teachers need. Give us the freedom.

  • Allow The Electronics

I believe students should be able to carry their personally owned electronic devices in school. I do not believe they should be playing games on these devices or trying to communicate with people through them during class time. It is good to have things like cell phones, on your person, for emergencies.

  • Yes, some schools already do.

Some schools have put tablets on trial in the classroom or are already using them, sometimes even on a daily basis. There are rules to it, and breaking them results in consequences. Also, some teachers find it helpful, because its easier to share notes or Powerpoints, and it also lightens students backpacks.

  • Helping Kids learn better!

Some kids are better at doing things when they do it with something they like. Kids like electronics, so they will learn faster and better, and in a more exciting way. There is one problem though. The students are most likely to get distracted by other things, like emails, texts, and games...

  • It would be a distraction for students and teachers.

Tablets and phones should not be allowed to school because they can have very inappropriate stuff on there. The apps and games could distract students during lessons. The phones and tablets can be used outside of school but inside they would just be a plain distraction. Personal devices are useless in school.

  • Too Much Distraction

Having these devices in school doesn't serve a legitimate purpose often enough to overcome how much of a distraction they are when used for purposes which are NOT legitimate.

Many children and teenagers today are simply looking for creative ways to not pay attention during school, and having your own electronic device right there is an easy way to do that.

We need to be encouraging children and teenagers to value education, NOT fostering a culture in which everyone only cares about being entertained.
