Should students be allowed to have electronics at school?

  • For secondary school and up, yes they should.

I think the assumption is that 'electronics' is specifically targeted towards mobile phones. Laptops are electronics, and especially in the 21st century, can be an integral educational tool for students. As already mentioned, some schools lack enough technological resources for all students, and therefore those with their own personal computers will ensure that they can carry out their own independent studies. If this question were referring to primary school alone, then my answer would be different. But secondary school and onwards, my opinion stands. From personal experience; note taking during lectures is much more efficient than written notes. It's faster and neater.
Of course there is the problem of accessing social time wasting websites such as Facebook and Twitter. However, this is easily prevented by schools if they simply put in place a proxy to block such websites, as do many work places.

  • Electronics can increase learning.

Because under this strict interpretation, basic technology would not be allowed. This means that students would not be able to bring in a laptop to work on a school project after-school with a partner, or if the school doesn't have enough technology for each student at a time. Second, this would mean that students would be unable to bring in phones with which they can call parents. This suddenly makes sports programs a lot more challenging for most parents, especially when the sport is one not with a definite ending time. Finally, other ideas could be done such as a teacher having trouble with these could collect phones or other devices at the start of a class.

  • It would be unconstitutional for them to be not allowed.

Besides for the fact that electronics help us learn, it may be unconstitutional for us NOT to be allowed to have electronics. We OWN them. Some of us payed for them with OUR OWN MONEY. Freedom of expression. But then again, schools break the constitution all the time anyway. Why stop now?

  • We pay for those 7-8 hours of school.

We pay for the 8 hours of school they attend each day. We do NOT pay for them to chat on phones or play Nintendo DS's. We pay $610,000,000,000 (Billion) every year for those schools. We're not paying that much for Gameboy time or phone time. They have 9-12 hours a day and a full Summer/Winter break to play on electronics.

When you're on $610,000,000,000 (billion) of Tax Payer dollars, you make sure it goes to it's full purpose and only it's purpose... Education.

  • No I oppose !!!

Firstly, electronic devices like iPhone, iPad are the very useful devices using for researching topics what you learn. Secondly, It's his or her right to carry devices to school. School shouldn't confine their rights. Finally, I can't see any ideas idea to prohibit electronics at school. It's absolutely non-sense using for researching topics what you learn. • It would be a major distraction.

Yes, it is possible that electronics can be used in a beneficial way at school to help the learning experience, but electronics are not always used that way. If the school's internet does not have a filter, students can have access to pornography, online games and social medias, which all work as major set-backs when it comes to learning.

  • Bullying Is EVERYWHERE

Even though some schools say that they will provide students with out devices devices some students will be bullied for not being as wealthy enough to buy some of the electronics their fellow students may have.Bullying is already a major problem in this WORLD and adding electronic devices to schools will just make the matter worst..So I think that electronic devices should not be allowed in schools.
