No: Because the school could lose lots of money and they still have to pay teachers it would be harder for the school because they would have to pay the kids to and that's why i said no and that the school could need money and they lose a lot just paying the teachers think about how much money they were to lose for all the kids + teachers= money!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think students should get paid for good grades because we work hard and rarely get rewarded.

Because it will make student try harder. Also money will encourage students to get good grades and if they get into a good college and/or get a good job and become rich he/she can pay you back. Another reason is that parent will be proud of their kids when they get good grades.

  • Students should not be paid for something they should be doing

Students should get good grades. Not think that that if they don't get good grades, it is ok. Getting good grades should be a standard, not something that students are working just for money. Later in life, there will not be lots of money for working hard. They need to be able to work hard on their own.

  • No they shouldn't

They should not be paid for something they are supposed to do. How will this help them in the future years coming. They will expect rewards always and it will downgrade society. School is about getting the education not the money. This is immorally wrong. And it shouldn't be tolerated.

  • Not a Job.

Students should not be paid for grades. Public schools allow kids to go to school at virtually no cost and better their future. Kids should be rewarded for their efforts, but not with money. That's not what an education is about, it's about learning because it makes you a better person.

  • Bad idea

The incentive is already there in what good grades can potentially do for your future. If that isn't enough to get a student to put the work in, that's a decision they're going to have to deal with. Giving them money isn't the solution, it doesn't teach them to think about the bigger picture.

  • No

A student should not be paid for their grades. In my opinion, that is a form of bribery, A child should want to strive to get good grades to better themselves and retain knowledge and education to move ahead in life. Some may think being paid for grades is like being paid to work a job, but money is not the right incentive to do well in basic educational settings.

  • No

No they should not be paid for their grades. It really doesn't make them have better grades in my opinion. School is something that they have to do, period and earning money from it is not benefitting them at all. It may even be showing them the wrong thing when it comes to school.

  • I don't believe students should be paid.

Students shouldn't be paid for getting good grades. There are already plenty of rewards for getting good grades, such as scholarships. In all cases this would raise school expenses, this would be the exact opposite of helpful. I understand that school takes up much of the day and makes it sometimes impossible to have a job. Although in many cases is not true. Most jobs available to high school students are willing to work around the students schedule. If the student is truly this worried about money they can get a job mowing lawns or plowing snow. I don't think that this is something needed, but there's nothing "Immoral" about it.

  • Students should not get paid for their grades

If students were paid for their good grades, where would that money come from? If it came from the school, it would take more money out of the budgets of other things the school needs money for. Would the school take the money out of the budget for new texts books to get the out dated books off the shelf's? Or would the money come from the money to buy new flooring, and repair damaged walls or windows? Or would the price of school in general just cost more? If school cost just increased, what if your student just is not smart enough to get A's, and B's? Then that parents would be paying other students that get good grades just because their child is not smart enough for the top classes. This is why students should not get paid for good grades, there are to many holes in the idea.

  • Very Bad idea

Students should not be paid for good grades because this will increase cheating and colleges will become disappointed because they'll think that the students are doing better when they are actually cheating. People's opinions of good grades are different, this would make it unfair because some students might think that they are getting good grades and should receive just as much as some of the other students.

  • Writing an essay

Grades are intended as a way to track your progress and motivate improvement, not as a job. If students are paid for good grades, cheating would substantially increase, making the school system even less fair than it already is. Besides this, different people's definitions of good grades drastically vary. For one family, a good grade could be an 80 or above, but for another family, it could be >95. This would instill jealousy between students, and also get many students bullied for "being dumb and getting less money" when they don't deserve to be. Giving out money for good grades would seem like a good option at first, but in the long run, traits that colleges look for in grades, such as a hardworking, inquisitive spirit would become invisible amongst the grades earned by students who cheated or studied only for money.
