Should Syrian refugees be welcomed to Britain instead of Romanians/Bulgarians?

Asked by: runawayjury
  • Yes! They should.

I understand that many people in Romania and Bulgaria may be in need of a home and comfort, but Syria is in a crisis, and it would be the right thing to provide them with home and comfort. Romania and Bulgaria are not at war, Syria is, and they need help.

    My answer is NO.
Romanians and Bulgarians are NO refugees, they are European citizens whose right to work and live in the UK is given by the Accession Treaties signed by the UK. Their rights to settle in the UK cannot be negotiable and discussed along the Syrians who have complete different status: refugees. My No is not against Syrian refugees, my NO is related denying Romanians an Bulgarian their European rights, to favour Syrian refugees.
