  • How about time?

A high school teen needs 9 hours of sleep. That teen is at school for 7. It typically takes an hour for a student to get ready and drive to school from the moment they wake up. Also an hour must be sat aside for the time it takes to eat breakfast/dinner at home. Then a two hour sports practice after that (sports are important for making friends and living a healthy life). Plus another hour to get changed, showed and drive back home. Then the average 3.5 hours of homework a night. That adds up to 24.5 hours! And they have to do this 5 days a week. Notice how there was no time for family, entertainmant, or any free time at all. How can a high school student have a job? How can they pay for gas? We are killing high school students with homework. I believe homework has its advantages like helping kids remember what they learned and giving them practice, but I feel it should be optional. Why assign me 20 problems for something I only need 4-5 to get?

  • Teens should not have as much homework as they do.

These days kids have so much homework that it's causing them back problems to have to carry their backpacks. They also don't have enough time to be with their families and with enough time they may begin to grow moody. Staring at work too long can cause headaches and eye aches which later may cause the need of glasses.

  • Teens should not

They shouldn't, considering that they take time to do their homework. This causes them to go to bed at at least midnight. If they then have to wake up at 6:00, or 7:00, they only get 6-7 hours of sleep. The homework gives them stress, nothing more. If any homework is to be given, it should be over the weekend, since the teen has much more time to do it. However, don't give it for the next day, they will only stress and fail completion of the homework

  • Way to much stress

  • No we Shouldnt

Kids do a lot at school and a lot of our time is there so when we get home we are tired and just want to sit back and relax. Also some of us have other things to do like sports or other things, to conclude i believe homework is unnecessary for students.

  • No, no and no

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.

  • We need home work. Not a lot though

Kids do need home work. But i think that we are getting too much when us kids get into middle school and higher the homework is really hard and we go to different classes we don't need like three sheets per class that's why kids aren't getting enough sleep during the night because of home work. We don't need too much homework be we do need a break once in a while.

  • No evidence of it academically improving students learning abilities.

There has never been real evidence of homework being beneficial to students. By giving students homework you are distracting students from developing themselves as people. This is so because students do not have time to build relationships if all they have time for is to do their homework. Especially if they have an after of before school activity that all ready takes up a lot of time.

  • No, they need to learn time management.

No, teenagers should not, not have homework, because homework is a good thing for teenagers. A teenager needs to learn how to budget their responsibilities. A teenager needs to learn that there are only so many hours in the day, and they have to learn how to get their work done in a fixed period of time. It is a good teaching tool to give homework.

  • No, they should have a different kind of homework.

Teens in high school need to be doing some work outside of the regular school day, but it should not be busy work. If they are getting ready for college, they need to be researching bigger ideas for papers. If they are getting ready for a job or vocational program, they should have projects related to that.

  • No it should not.

Homework is made for all of us to get a better education. If we didn't have homework, we could be failing the classes we take today. In class everyday, we learn something new. But, is it really enough. If you predict yourself going to a good collage then, homework is something you need to think about. Homework is a good process because we can get better educations, a better collage, a lot of practice if we don't know something, etc. A lot of us hate homework but lets focus on the better education we get.
